WITH A SIGH OF relief, Tom pulled into the designated parking space in front of the flat and turned off the ignition. “Well,” he said, “that was an interesting experience.”
“They say you get used to it after a while.”
“Yeah, so I’m told. Anyhow, having a car will give us a little more flexibility and it’ll allow for more sightseeing.”
After breakfast the next morning, they loaded the car with their overnight bags, music, and other gear and, armed with road maps and directions, headed out of metro London toward Canterbury. They arrived in the historic town with time to do a bit of sightseeing, after which they toured Canterbury Cathedral before having lunch in a local pub.
