Introductions with Koko were made, and a search plan was developed. Eva, Thomas, and Sol would go to the sparsely populated western portion of Moloka‘i. Koko, Daniel, and Laura would spread out in the main town to question family. And Mel, Romina, and Luis Junior would take the Aggressor to a seldom-visited peninsula on the north shore of the island—the site of an old leper colony that could only be accessed by boat or plane after a landslide had swept away one of the bridges along a narrow trail that allowed tourists to visit by mule.
When Kai promised to get the Scouts home safe and sound, they objected. The boys wanted to help with the search. But Thomas struck a compromise.
