Chapter 1

Where do I start. The beginning, middle or end? I guess the beginning right. Well it all started when I met Erin. See before him my life was fine. I mean it wasn't the best a girl could ask for but I knew how my life would be. I was comfortable.

When I met Erin, I was in a relationship. Me and Ron have been together for 6 years, but things weren't the same. I'd have to tell him every little thing to do and he still wouldn't do it. A grown man sitting at home watching his woman go to work and keep the house up. I'd come home and find him playing the game. I was tired of it.

One day my boss asked me to train a new person. Usually I'd have an attitude about it. It's not in my job description and I don't get paid extra to do that. I argued with my boss that I wasn't doing it.

''Kaprii, you can not tell me what your not going to do. I'm your boss.'' Mrs. Reynolds said.

This b***h new how to irritate me and she also knew i wasn't doing s**t she told me to i hated this job.

Mrs. Reynolds no disrespect but i don't get paid to do stuff for free. You can either pay me to train or he about to watch me. I'm tired of training people and they never stick around anyways. ''I said.Kaprii its not up to you, nor is it up for debate. Your the lead in memory care and it's your job to make sure they know what there doing back there.

In all honesty, i never asked to be a lead caregiver. I was just good at my job. Soon as i was about to go back and forth with her my favorite coworker Mya walked in.

Mrs. Reynolds i'll do it for her i work with her tonight anyways and we always do stuff together.

Mrs. Reynolds said that that would be fine. She just didn't know i was ready to go back and forth with her ass. I didn't give not one f**k. I grabbed my phone and keys before walking out the office. I didn't say anything to her just grinned at her ass.

As I was walking out her office that's when I first saw Erin. Dark skin Fine chocolate. The brother had waves and stood about 6'2. He flashed me a smile and i kept walking. Nope niggas like you come with problems and i do not need any.

I made it to my station and checked on my residents. I got them ready to go to thirsty Thursday. As i was pushing a few people down and guiding the others with there walkers Mya decided to finally join me.

"Hey Kaprii this my homie Erin, Erin this Kaprii.She runs memory care so if I'm not here and you need to know anything or need help she's the one to go to." Mya said. The girl just met him and she is already cool with him. That's Mya though. He energy makes you feel comfortable around her.

Mya was a stud. Her girlfriend, brittney worked with us to. We was cool but she thought i was f*****g with Mya on the low. Crazy thing is i don't even like bitches. Not even as friends they are too messy for me.

"Nice to meet you. Mya come on so i can come get dinner ready. Yo auntie over there tripping grab her i got everyone else. I said.

This resident was whooping my ass and I was not in the mood for the s**t today. Mya went to grab her.

When we finished getting them all down and the other residents from assistant living came as well it was time for the show to start.

*thirsty Thursday is when every residents goes to the assistant living dinning room and some entertainment is booked for them. Some of them get to drink beer, wine, or other stuff.

After about 20 mins of us just sitting there waiting for someone to come noone did. So me, mya Brittney and a few of the other girls jumped in doing karaoke and letting the residents sing. After about 45 minutes of doing that its was time to take our people back to there unit.

When we finished i got ready to set the table for dinner. Mya said her and Erin was going to walk the other side. Mya's girlfriend was working and i knew she was trying to get over there to see her. I told her it was cool ill handle things and to just make sure she comes back before they started eating.

A little while later she returned and said Erin was in the washroom and he'd be back. She took this as her time to spill tea.

"Girl i was talking to Erin when he first got here. i walked him around the building and introduced him to everyone.i asked him did anybody catch his eye, and he said all theses bitches was ugly until he seen you. That man said and i quote i want her. I told him you had a man and you was not go be easy to get.''

"You f*****g right that nigga look like he a player im good plus i got a man at home.'' I told her.

He said he got a girlfriend and that he wasn't on that he just wanted to be friends so be nice Kaprii, and please control your facial expressions. Mya said knowing that i could be a b***h at times and my face would tell it all.

'' Mya i can't make any promises.'' i said with a evil grin as he was walking back up.

I started platting the food as Mya and Erin passed the food out. When we were finished Erin stopped me. Your good at what you do i can tell you care about them. How long have you been working here?'' He asked flashing me a smile.

I started to ignored him but Mya gave me a look. "Thank you i've been here for about 2 years now. How long have you been in this field of work? I asked..

He watched me closely and it kinda made me blush. Its been a while since i had butterflies and when it looked at me i couldn't help but turn away as i turned red. This man was going to be a problem for me i can already tell. That was the day I let this man get in my head. little did I know he was about to ruin my life. stay tuned for the next chapter.
