Chapter 2

After serving dinner we started the showers. grabbed the people from my set and got them ready for bed. everyone else sat at watched TV with the others. once I got all my people situated, I decided to take a break. as I was telling Mya Erin decided he was ready to go on one as well.

''Where you going?'' he asked me.

"To get gas and something to eat'', I responded. we was walking to the parking lot together.

''Thats you?''I asked as he walked towards his Audi car. it was nice all right. I mean at the time I had a thing for cars. I was somewhat of a tomb boy. I wasn't blessed in all parts but I had a little something plus my face card never declined.

''He said yeah with a grin." I told him that it was nice and that I gotta take it for a spin sometime. he responded saying "anytime" before hoping. I walked to my car and pulled off going to the gas station.

when no got in my car (a Ford fusion 2022) I called Roy. he was home watching my son. well my son was watching him really.

"Hey baby, hows work?" he asked. we was on face time and guess what. he was sitting in the same spot I had left him in.

"hey, where's my son?" I asked trying not to get irritated because this man did not make staying with him easy.

"your sister came to get him" he said. I was thankful because I know my baby be tired of just sitting in the house with him.

"which one?" I had 5 sisters. a big family and we are all pretty close.so close no one knows how to mind there business.

"your sister summer." he said it sounded like I was bothering him because he was trying to rush me off the phone.

Oh, Did you fill out any job applications today?" I asked already knowing the answer to that question.

"Baby I was going to do that as soon as I finished this game."

"At some point you go have to do something. I'm only 25 I'm not finna take care of a grown ass man and my son.you need to figure yo s**t out. your not a kid anymore. I shouldn't have to take care of everything and work hella overtime to make sure we straight. I didn't sign up for this."

"you act like I'm not trying. like I enjoy sitting in the house and watching you work. I can only do so much." the nigga wasn't even doing anything.

I was pumping my gas and headed to grab some sharks.

"you know what if you spent half as much time looking for a job as you do on the game maybe you would have one by now. update your resume do something did you even clean up or wash your ass today?" I asked.

he sat there quietly. I knew the answer to that. "Roy, get up and do something you are starting to piss me off I'm trying to make it work yet you not making it easy to do so."

"Alright man." the call went silent for a while. "look baby you got 20 so I can get me some weed? I'll pay you back once i get my check." I know this nigga didn't just ask me for some more money.

" Hell naw. clean my f*****g house please." I said before ending the call. I had walked into sharks and grabbed my food. I headed back to work.

I was so irritated with Roy I needed to talk to my best friend. I pulled back into my spot and called her. I had 10 minutes left on my break and I really wasn't in a rush to go back in.

"Hey Bestie." She said as she answered the phone.

"Hey buttercup. what you doing?" I asked her.

"Sitting her at Tyron's house. wassup you okay. she asked. she always can tell when some bothering me."

we was on FaceTime and I gave her a look and she that asked did she have her headphones in. she gave me a look back like b***h you know I do. Tyron was one of her hoes. she had niggas for everything weed, money, food, and d**k. I use to tell her to slow down one day f*****g with all them men will get her hurt. it wasn't like my Bestie didn't have money. she was a single parent just like me. our hustle was on point. stayed with money. if we wasn't working we was thinking about another way to make money.

"Bestie what this one giving you? I asked knowing she don't be around no nigga unless he offering her some."

"b***h he about to do this move with these cards. I'm about to get me and my son some shoes" she said.

"awe. Roy just irritated me sitting in the same spot the nigga haven't even washed his ass today and he wonder why I don't wanna have s*x with him. he talking bout when he get off the game he'll fill out some applications. its like if I'm not sitting in his face constantly on him he wont move. he act like my child im going to start taking that game to work with me." I said.

"Girl I keep telling you to focus on you and your baby and let that nigga go. I bet as soon as he out on his own he'll get his s**t together. Ain't that much love in the world that will make me take care of a nigga for all those years."

"I know I know. anyways we got a new man today. he fine as hell."I told her.

"Worker or resident?" she said.

"Worker why the f**k would I be talking about a resident." I asked.

she laughed and said "you know you like them older". Roy was 6 years older than me but b***h don't come for my man.

"Haha b***h that's not funny." I said.

"Anyway you about get on that or naw."

"Hell naw, I love my man too much." I said and she was mocking me like she already knew what I was going to say.

"look I'm not telling you to go cheat I'm saying keep your options open. I want better for you. your a boss ass b***h. you don't need a man and you don't need to be tied down specially if he not helping you or benefiting you or your son."

I was getting out the car and walking back in still on the phone with my bestie. soon as I made it to the door so did Erin.

"I don't have a key fob I was waiting on you." he said.

"oh here" I said scanning the door so we could go in he held the door open.

"Girl he fine as f**k, is that him?" my bestie said while still on the phone.

my face was red as I looked at her and said "I don't have my headphones in".

he laughed and walked to the time clock. i was right behind him.

"well he is if you don't want him I got room for him over here". she joked.

"Imma call you when I get off". I said and hung up.

I was clocking back in when he turned and said "so can I get your number."

I looked at him and asked "don't you got a girl."

he said "its complicated but I was asking for work you know just in case I get locked out again."

I laughed. this man was lying.

"awe that's what these are for." I pulled up the work phones we turn in after our shifts. "you need me call me on that I said and walked past him."

I just wanted to finish my shift and go lay down I was off for the next 2 days and was planning on enjoying it. I'd been here since 7 am it was now 8 pm I couldn't wait till 11 came.

I finished my shift trying to stay away from Mya and Erin. when it was time to go ran to the time clock and clocked out. Mya Erin and Brittney was behind me. they called my name but I pretended not to hear. I rushed to my car and hopped in . I turned my radio up blasting my music before I pulled off. my son was staying at my sisters and my bath and bed was calling my name.
