  Chapter 17: The Home Coming The sun, exiting to the east of Matella was a roundish ball of orange, hanging low in the darkening blue of the evening skies that speaks of its setting, and Matella was apprehensive, as Cush mounted the action relishing Tata that willingly yielded his body and in a moment was airborne. This creature, which Cush, as a young boy playing around in the company of centaurs deep in the Forest of Death caught barely two feet long and budding wings, has grown to amazing size. Presently it measures twelve feet long, its wingspan on both sides seven feet wide when spread. It scales body dotted with a rich hue which gave it a beauty no beast ever has displayed, with two large heads, four eyes and constantly flapping tongues, wide-open nostrils that snort involuntarily
