AT HIS APARTMENT, JOSHUA gets busy preparing for his birthday celebration. First, he calls Abi to tell her he will be spending a week with her at Byron Bay shortly. ‘In a few weeks. I just need to get the leave application signed off.’ Abi says how grateful she is and asks about his latest adventure. He gives her the abridged version, the watered-down media version of the bomb incident. She starts to tire, so he says goodbye and see you later. He looks at Africa on the screen who looks much the same: unhappy and stressed. ‘Soon, baby. Daddy’s coming for you.’ Next, he checks the fridge.
