Grey WindIt was not until noon and the guests were all at the banquet that Thyloss learned the nature of the Queen’s sacrifice.
In the morning so much attention had been paid to the Black Thunderer’s miraculous recovery that no one had noticed that Grey Wind was missing. But about the time Ierii was making her attempt to warn the Queen and her guests about the destruction of Ma-ii, some children came running into the bull quarters with news that they had seen a terrible sight. So frantic and incoherent were they that it was not until Thyloss and the others had followed them to the south pasture that they understood what had happened.
