When school was finished, White went home to drop off his backpack filled with his class binders, homework, and a single textbook. He dropped the bag in his room and went out the front door again to begin searching for Crow once more.
The silver-haired boy walked his way to one of the headquarters of Demon Hunters. He walked through the door of the massive building and went straight to the headmaster’s office. The headmaster, with a cigar in his mouth and a lighter in his hand, greeted the boy.
“Oh, so you’re here, Blank. What can I do for you?” He looked down at the cigar in his mouth, before speaking, “other than not light this, of course.”
The boy, Blank, asked his question quickly, “did the boy I sent here get here safely?”
“Ah, yes. The one who was possessed by the Ira Demon, correct? Yeah, he got here. We already put him in one of the cells. He’s in his own cell.”
“We have to-”
“Yes, I know the procedure, boy! We have to keep him here for 48 hours and observe him! I’m the one who gave you this job!”
Blank nodded, “good. That is all I came to report.”
“Hold it! I’m not done with my part yet. Have you decided on joining a team yet?”
Blank visibly grimaced. He didn’t want to join a team. The Organization wanted to enforce a team rule, since the majority of the Hunters can’t fight demons one to one, but Blank didn’t want to join one since he could fight demons one to one or even four to one. He was a special case.
While the majority of the Hunters had a demonic trait acquired from demonic blood being injected into their bodies, the purity rate being twenty percent at most, Blank’s was a higher, undisclosed, rate. It helped to shoot him up to one of the highest rankings within the Organization within the year that he’d joined.
Blank gave his answer, “I work alone. Besides, I don’t want anyone else to slow me down.”
The headmaster sighed and looked up to the ceiling, “fine. Just go.”
Blank turned around and headed out of the office.
