White sat in the class, not really paying attention to what was going on in the classroom. His mind was focused on where his brother could be. Before he knew it, he was in the cafeteria eating lunch, piecing together possible leads as to where Crow was and what he was doing.
The pictures of the flying demon creature which may or may not be photoshopped, the rumors of a motorcyclist who rode even though it was snowing, the deaths of people who had their hearts pierced by a wooden stake.
All of these events were things that started after Crow’s disappearance. Though many believed them to be pure coincidence, White believed otherwise.
There’s simply no way all of these aren’t connected in one way or the other.
“-ite! Hey White!”
His eyes shot up, “Yes!” he was looking around at his friends in front of him.
“What are you thinking about there? You aren’t even doing your usual ‘weeb talks’.”
“I was thinking about…” He looked down.
Joe sighed, “Hey man, look, serious talk, you need to stop worrying about him. I’m sure he’s doing fine. What you need to do is get your s**t together with these classes. Don’t think I don’t know how your grades are right now! Since Crow is absent, I’m going to take his place as the guy who will ensure that you graduate with the rest of us!”
White looked up at him, how can I be so stupid… They’re worried about him too, but they aren’t throwing away their grades worrying about it. If he saw me now… he’d be angry, possibly punching me too. “You’re right. I can’t keep falling behind.”
He took a bite out of his spicy chicken (though it’s not really spicy) sandwich and began pulling out the papers he’d been neglecting to do.
Joe simply smiled and turned to the others, giving a thumbs up.
Maddison looked slightly unamused, a bit of an angry face. She looked at Joe, did you have to word it like that? Her gaze spoke.
White kept doing the assignments in front of him, taking bites of chicken sandwich in between each problem. Though he had been neglecting the assignments, he wasn’t exactly ignorant of what to do on each of them.
The bell, meaning lunch was ending and the next period would soon start, began to ring. Maddison, Ken, Brandon, Joe, and Max got up to leave for their next periods. White finished the assignment he was currently doing before getting up from the table. His next class was study hall. It was a class the school gave students who had any grade below a “C”.
