Her True Mate

Pov~ Lucien Who was, Aria Allen? I thought to myself during first period attendance. I was usually late to this period but today i had managed to make it on time, I had never heard that name before and i knew everyone in the pack, that was my job as firer pack leader, to know everyone who came and went in the pack lands. Who belonged, and who didn’t. So why had I never heard this name before. A small hand flew up two seats to the left of me and one row back, I spotted it in the corner of my eye and wondered how i’d never noticed her if we had been in the same class all year. Although I was never here on time why was she never called on, why hadn’t i noticed who she was paired with during group projects. Had she been paired with me once? I decided to look over to see if I could get a glimpse of her face, she was pale with green eyes and long brown hair that seemed to go on forever only stopping just below her hips. I felt someone nudge me from my right suddenly. It shocked me a little and I almost let out a snarl as I looked over but quickly realized it was just Declan and stopped myself. Declan was my step-brother just 3 months younger than me and turning 18 soon as well. “I know you’re still upset about not finding your mate yet but don’t you think it’s a little early to be staring at the chick’s?” He whispered to me and i could hear the little laugh under his breath. I quietly responded, “I wasn’t staring Declan.! But who is she, I haven’t seen her around the pack lands and I certainly haven’t heard her name before.” “No clue bro, she never speaks and when we have group projects the Mr.Lutz let’s her do them alone, anti-social I guess” He said shrugging in response. For the rest of the class i thought silently barely paying attention wondering about this mystery girl. Pov~Aria I was sitting in my seat quietly when shockingly our packs future alpha strolls into class on time. Mr.Lutz, our science teacher, was doing our attendance. When he got to my name I noticed a puzzled look formed on Alpha Lucien’s face. I raised my hand to show that I was here and after I put it back down I pretended that I did not notice Lucien staring at me with the same puzzled look on his face. Why was he staring at me? Had I done something wrong? Did I have something on me? I quickly looked myself up and down hoping he wouldn’t notice, it seemed as if he was lost in thought. Maybe he wasn’t looking at me, maybe he was staring off into space and I just happened to be in his line of sight. I went back to my workbook pages that we were supposed to be doing for class today, of course, i was the only one actually doing it. The rest of my classmates were whispering to each-other quietly, the popular girls in the back probably gossiping about which football player had the best d**k this year or which one was the best f**k, while the jocks themselves were probably mumbling about which one had actually f****d the tightest girls and who hadn’t f****d who. My head perked up slightly when I heard Declan whisper to Lucien asking why he had been staring, although I decided that wasn’t my business and tried to tune out all of the whispering as I did the last page of the workbook that we had been assigned for the day, the rest of the he and she-wolves in my class would have it as homework that they would probably never do anyways. Just as i finished the last question of the page the bell had rang signaling next period was to begin soon. As I reached for my bag to put away my workbook one of the popular girls who had been sitting in the back walked past “accidentally” knocking it off my desk. She looked down smirked for a second thinking i wouldn’t notice, and then walked off without and apology. Just as I had went to pick it up off the floor a hang grabbed it, I thought it was probably just one of the jocks about to toss it further across the room to a buddy so i quickly snatched it out of the hand and then looked up. It was Lucian. “Hey, Aria right?” He said with a smile. I simply looked away and put the workbook into my bag and began to walk to my next class. About 10 feet away from the door i realized Lucian was now trailing me like a lost puppy. “Hey I was talking to you!” He said tapping my shoulder lightly. I simply shrugged him off and stopped abruptly, break checking him, which was a careless idea because he had fallen into me knocking us both over. “s**t! I’m sorry! Let me help you up” He said quickly wiping some dust off of himself. I avoided eye contact as I helped myself up and walked into my next class.
