ANITA AND THE DNA PALAVA.
DNA PALAVA 1. It was late on a Friday night and Anita, a working class lady, was feeling tired after a tough day at work. Knowing she didn't have time to cook and faced the prospect of getting stuck in Lagos traffic, she decided to head to the supermarket near her office to pick up a tin of tea and some bread for a quick meal before bed. Walking into the supermarket, Anita grabbed a shopping basket and began strolling the supermarket to choose her items. When she reached for a tin of Milo tea on the top shelf, a stranger's hand unexpectedly touched hers, causing her to turn around and see who it was. It turned out that the handsome young man behind her also had his eyes on the last tin of tea in the store. Anita watched as he took it from her, leaving her feeling frustrated and annoyed. "Can you believe this guy? He can't even act like a gentleman. I don't have the energy to get into a fight right now, especially after such a stressful day," she thought to herself, moving away to another part of the supermarket. As Anita tried to walk away, she stumbled and almost fell, but Dave, the young man, reached out and caught her, preventing a potentially heavy fall. "See what happens when you let your anger get the best of you, pretty lady. You can have the tea. I'll just drive to another store to find one for myself," Dave said with a smile, handing over the tin of tea to Anita, who couldn't help but blush . As Anita stood up with the help of Dave, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed by her reaction to the situation. She thanked Dave for his kind gesture and apologized for her sudden anger. They both ended up laughing at the situation and started chatting as they walked around the supermarket together. Dave turned out to be a charming and funny guy, and Anita found herself enjoying his company. After picking up a few more items, Dave offered to pay for Anita's Items as a way to make up for the trouble he had caused. Anita was touched by his generosity and insisted on splitting the bill with him. They exchanged number and Dave wanted to ask for her home address when his phone rang, and it was his mother calling. Having finished answering his mother's call, Dave turned back and couldn't see Anita again. Though he felt sad, he concluded to call her when he gets back home. His mother had called him, informing him that something urgent that needed his presence occurred at home. Driving back home, Dave saw his mother and his childhood friend, Cindy, waiting for him in the sitting room. "You are back, my son. Cindy has something to tell you," Dave's mom said, going upstairs to her room. She desperately wants her son to marry Cindy because of the friendship she has with her parents and wants to strengthen the bonds between both families. "Don't tell me you are the something urgent mom told me about. You could have chatted me on w******p so we could talk. Besides, I know you are here for me to accompany you to a party, but hey! I'm stressed out to attend any now. You guys are unbelievable. I have lost a treasure tonight," Dave said, heading to his room. But Cindy pulled him back. "I love you, Dave. I'm not here for a party but to express my feelings to you," Cindy said, causing a smile on Dave's face. "I love you too, my dear Cindy. You're like a sister I never had. Trust me, your bro will always be there for you," Dave said, heading to his room. Cindy was angry that Dave couldn't understand her. To her, he was her dream husband, and she would go to any length to make him see her as a wife and not a sister. Feeling sad, Cindy left for her house that very night without informing Dave's mom. Throughout the night, Anita was restless, unable to sleep. She found herself consumed by thoughts of Dave. "Is this what love feels like?" Anita pondered, but then shook off the thought, questioning how one could fall in love with a stranger at first sight. As she prepared to finally rest her head on the pillow, her phone began to ring persistently. Glancing at the screen and seeing Dave's name, she eagerly answered the call, going into a conversation that lasted until the early morning hours. From that night onward, Anita and Dave continued to deepen their connection, becoming closer with each passing conversation. Dave, eager to share his feelings, sought the right moment to confess his love to Anita, who also felt same. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, Dave had everything well planned out to surprise Anita with a marriage proposal. He even instructed her to dress up and wait for him to pick her up. Just as he was about to head out to reveal his surprise to Anita, he was shocked to find Cindy's parents and his own mother in the living room. Assuming they had come to visit his mother, who was friends with Cindy's parents, he greeted them and was about to walk past them when his mother pulled him aside and asked him to join them for lunch. Desperate to stick to his plan and show his surprise to Anita, Dave tried to explain that he had plans to meet a friend but promised his mother that she would love the surprise he had in store for her when he returned. With that, he quickly made his escape, leaving the disappointed Cindy's parents behind. Despite their disappointment, Cindy's parents found Comfort in Dave's mother's reassurance that Dave was destined to marry Cindy no matter what. Smiling at each other, they settled at the dining table to enjoy their lunch, hopeful for a future with Dave and Cindy together. Dave took a bold step of declaring his love for Anita and sealing it with a marriage proposal, which Anita gladly accepted without any hesitation. "I want to spend forever with you," she expressed, hugging Dave tightly. Excited and filled with love, Dave eagerly mentioned, "My mother will be overjoyed to see her once young son ready to start a new chapter in his life. Let's go visit her." With that, Dave led the elated Anita to his car, setting off to share the news with his mother. Back at Dave's house, His mother was about escorting Cindy and her parents to the car when a car honked at the gate and knowing it was Dave, suggested that they go back to the sitting room to discuss about the marriage plan with Dave once he comes in. Will she accept Anita? What could lead to a DNA test? Find out in the next episode. DNA PALAVA 2 As Dave and Anita stepped into the sitting room, all eyes immediately fixated on them. Cindy's parents, in particular, were visibly upset by the way Dave held Anita around her waist and were curious to learn more about the woman by his side. "Mom, I have a surprise for you. I'm happy that both our families are here along with my dear friend, Cindy. This is Anita. We met a few weeks ago, and fate brought us together in love. I have already proposed to her, and I want to spend my life with her," Dave explained, introducing Anita to his mom, who couldn't hide her Anger. When Anita approached Dave's mom to greet her, she refused to respond and instead pulled Dave away for a private conversation. Meanwhile, Cindy and her parents were filled with anger as they sat there. "What was that display in the sitting room? Cindy and her parents are here to discuss your marriage plans with her. If Cindy isn't going to be your wife, then count me out," Dave's mom exclaimed, clearly upset. "Mom, I can't leave Anita for anything. She is my life, and if you won't accept her as my wife, then I will leave with her this moment and not return," Dave boldly warned his mom about his intentions. "All of a sudden, you want to go far away with a stranger? how long have you known her to marry her? or you think love is enough to sustain marriage? Why not settle down with your childhood friend, Cindy ? I will give my consent to this marriage but don't get me involve when the problem comes knocking." Dave's mom responded going back to the sitting room. she didn't know how to calm Cindy's parents down. she was the very person that suggested Cindy and Dave's marriage. Unsure of how to handle the situation, Dave's mom approached Cindy's parents to apologize and explain her son's feelings. Cindy, overwhelmed by emotions, ran out in tears, leaving her parents furious. Cindy's father, shaking his head in disappointment, stood up with his wife, not uttering a single word to Dave's Mom. [Outside] " So she invited us over to insult us? She and her son clearly did this on purpose. Cindy, better wipe off those tears. You are beautiful and Dave isn't the only man left in this world." Cindy's father said, entering in the front seat of the car and driving out of the compound. [Back in the sitting room] Anita stood face to face with Dave's mom, she felt anxious looking at her, but hopeful when she offered a seat. "Maybe, there is still hope of her accepting me as her daughter-in-law." Anita muttered to herself. Dave's mom started asking Anita about her background, family, and job. Anita answered all her questions politely, trying to make a good impression. But the tension in the room was thick, and it was clear that Dave's mom was not happy about the whole marriage plan. After their conversation, Dave's mom stood up and said, "I don't know whether you truly love my son, but I'm sure that he loves you. I may not agree with his decision but all I want is his happiness. He is all I have left since his father's death and I won't want him to make the wrong decision." " I know you love him a lot and I do too. I promise to be a good wife and daughter in-law." Anita calmly responded with the both hugging. Dave who was watching all along stood there with smile evident in his face. "It seems that someone is beginning to love her daughter-in-law." Dave uttered, breaking the silence in the room. Dave together with his Mom went over to Anita's family where the date of their wedding was fixed. It was on the long-awaited day, Dave and Anita stood in front of the altar waiting for the pastor to proclaim them husband and wife. But in Anita's face, it was obvious that she was worried about something. Each passing moment, she kept on looking at the messages trooping in on her w******p. Not long after, the pastor declared them husband and wife, and there was a loud clap in the church. "What's wrong with you, Anny? It seems you are worried about something?" Dave said to Anita's ear while hugging her. "It's just stress, my love. The stress of preparing for the wedding," Anita said, with Dave holding her hand tightly as they went inside the car for their reception. The messages kept on coming in, and Anita's worries grew increasingly. As they reached their house, Dave went over to where his friends sat and was having fun with them while Anita took excuse from him to attend to something important. Watch out for the concluding part!!!
