685 Words
Sir Joseph turns on his heels and leaps into action drawing his sword to fight whatever or whomever is trying to hurt the princess, but he was too late. Two men started dragging her out of the tent and when he went to go leap at them, he feels a sharp pain in his lower back. The small man he turned his back on had a small knife covered in his blood in his hand. He knew what they were going to do to her if he didn’t save her form these men. He swung his sword at the small man but the pain in his side made it miss his target. He tried again this time he hit his arm on the bicep. Sir Joseph pushed through the pain. He kept swinging as hard as he could, and the small man feel but this time he wasn’t getting up. Sir Joseph ran after the other two men. When he reached them, he stuck his sword in one of the men’s lower- back, which caused his to drop the princess’ feet. She saw what had happened and tried to get away from the other man, but he overpowered her and stuck a small dagger to her throat. She looked at Sir Joseph with terror in her eyes and he knew what he needed to do. He puts his hands up and slowly lowers his sword down to the ground. He looked at the man in the eyes and says, “whatever you want I’ll give you just don’t hurt her.” The man grins and says with a deep drunken voice “and why would I hurt this beautiful woman when I can have my way with her.” Sir Joseph looked at Cassandra and he could see she was really scared and didn’t know what to do, but he did. He grins and says with a smirk on his face “you don’t want spoiled goods. She’s not all as great as she looks.” Cassandra starts to get mad because she’s never laid in any man’s bed let alone know what they are talking about, but she knew it wasn’t the truth. She was getting so mad she decided she was going to get out of this with or without Sir Joseph’s help. She sees her chance she swings head back straight on the man’s nose and he lets her go and that’s when she sees Sir Joseph grab his sword and stabs the man straight in his gut. The man falls grabbing his stomach and Cassandra leaps forward out of the way. Cassandra looks at Sir Joseph and asks him what he meant by what he said. Sir Joseph laughs at the question and tells her “I was hoping you didn’t know what I meant because if you did, I knew you would hate me for saying it.” “Well, if you want to know I’ve never been with anyone nor been in any man’s bed.” Sir Joseph smiled at her and said, “I never would have questioned anything different.” She sinks down next to the fire back at the camp. She has never dealt with anything like this, so she doesn’t know how to feel right now. Her heart is racing. She doesn’t know if she could sleep knowing something like this could happen again. Sir Joseph sees she was having a hard time with this. So, he asks her “do you want me to walk around to see if anyone else is close by?” She looks up at him and smiles and tells him “Please that would really ease my nerves a little bit so I can try to have a better night’s sleep.” He comes back a few mins later and tells her there isn’t any signs of anyone else around them and that he will sleep outside so she can rest easy. She agrees to that and goes to lay down in her tent. Soon she fell asleep knowing her knight was right outside her tent to protect her.
