The Lost Twin Princess

Chapter Five: The Long Road Ahead.

Casandra and Sir Joseph rode their horses as much as they can during the day and by night, they would set up their camps. They would talk about what they wanted to do after this travel, but Casandra didn’t really know what would happen after she arrived at the castle. She can admit to herself she wasn’t sure how they react to her being back. Would they be happy, would they be mad and kick her out because they don’t believe she is who she says she is, does her and her sister look alike. She had a lot to think about and it showed on her face because Sir Joseph reached over and put his firm hand on hers. “What should be on your mind that it makes you look so sad my lady?” She looks down and says to him “what if they don’t like me or think I am who I say I am. What if they don’t want me since I’ve been gone for so long that they forgot about me? Did they even look for me and if so, how long?”

Sir Joseph took her hands in his with a smile on his face and tells her “With everything you are worried about it doesn’t matter because I will be beside you the whole time no matter what.” That gave her some ease to the tasks at hand and decides to go to sleep. They still had a day’s ride till they reached the kingdom. So, she wished him a great night sleep and wished him sweet dreams and he smiled and told her “I will dream of nothing but you my lady,” and with that she could feel the heat rise to her cheeks. She hurried up and went in her tent to go to bed. Sir Joseph stayed outside of the tents for a little while longer before he headed to his own tent.

Suddenly he heard a rustle behind him. It sent shivers down his spine. He jumped up sword in hand and told the lurker to come out slowly. It was a small stature man. He didn’t look harmful nor had a sword of his own on him. Sir Joseph asks the man “why are you lurking around my campsite.” The small man had a wicked grin come across his face. Something wasn’t right. That’s when Sir Joseph hears a scream coming from the princess’ tent.
