“Sorry, we fell asleep,” I hold the door open to let them in. “How has she been?” Dr Shelby asks. “She managed to eat a small amount, but she’s cold and sleeping a lot,” I say as I lead them to the couch where Helen has fallen back asleep. “I’m going to assume, from the way you both look right now, that you’ve managed to strengthen the bond with her,” Dr Shelby routes around in her bag and pulls out a thermometer. She places the device to Helen’s head and then reads the screen, “perfect,” she nods. “What do you mean, from the way we look?” I ask. “Well, to be frank, dear, you look like crap.
