Hawks POV. I load Oakley's stuff into my car, reassuring myself the whole time, that this is temporary. In a few short days, I’ll be loading it all back into my cabin. This is not goodbye, I’ll see him again very soon, hopefully with his mum. When I finally pick up the last bag to go into the car, I look at my bedroom. It’s back to how it was before. Bare and lifeless. I double-check the kitchen and living room, making sure I’ve not forgotten anything. “Can’t forget the main man himself can we?” I say to Oakley in his car seat. I pick him up and hesitate at the door. “You’ll be back home soon,” I tell him with a sigh, and step over the threshold with my son. Pushing all thoughts of this being the last time out of my head.
