Eight years earlier, Nora Collins lost a child while trying to save Liam Bennett, and for her, Liam gave up his old life.

He had once said, "Everyone sees me as the flawless, high-minded CEO. Only you have seen the dirtiest, ugliest side of me."

Eight years later, in order to protect his pregnant lover, Olivia Brooks, Liam handed over the company's power to her.

Nora's younger sister, Isla Collins, had her private photos taken by Olivia's brother. Yet Olivia refused to give her any company resources or support, driving Isla to jump to her death.

When Nora handed Liam the divorce papers, he only brushed them off.

"Unless one of us dies, we are never getting divorced."

Looking at her own bloodstained hands, Nora finally gave up on him completely.

But when news came that Nora had fallen into the sea, the ever-composed and impeccably controlled Mr. Bennett went mad.

Chapter 1
By the time Nora arrived at the archery range with the divorce papers, the fierce affair inside had just ended. Her husband was still catching his breath, yet he had not forgotten to press a lingering kiss to the girl in his arms. The young woman's pale back was braced against the wall of targets. Her face was still flushed from passion, and her legs trembled faintly. Nora's breath hitched. She recognized the girl at once. It was Olivia Brooks, the newest executive Liam had personally promoted within Bennett Group. She was also the daughter of the Brooks family, the most powerful family in Stonevale. No wonder Nora had never been able to uncover any information about the mistress Liam had hidden away. No wonder, after Isla's private photos had been maliciously auctioned off by Olivia's vicious younger brother, the case had been dismissed again and again. Liam had protected the Brooks siblings far too well. He had even driven Isla—the girl who had once saved his life—to s***h her wrists repeatedly, leaving her with nowhere to seek justice. With a cold sneer, Nora pulled out an arrow and drove it straight through the divorce papers. Then she drew the bow, took aim, and let the arrow fly directly at the couple not far away. The next second, it grazed Olivia's scalp and slammed into the target wall behind her. Olivia's terrified scream rang through the entire archery range. "Ah!" Seeing the blood streaming down the girl's head, Liam's face darkened to the extreme. "Nora, you've gone too far. She's just a pure, kind-hearted girl. Can't you tolerate even her?" Nora let out a soft laugh. "Pure? Kind-hearted?" "You two were doing this in public, and she even had the group's lawyers reassigned, pushing Isla to her death. Are you blind to all of that?" The thought of Isla—her sweet, lively little sister, the only family she had left—now gaunt from losing more than thirty pounds and reduced to a shadow of herself, made Nora's throat tighten. Fighting back her tears, she said, "Today's arrow was only a warning. Either she gives up her power, or we get divorced." "Liam, you choose." His gaze turned colder. "Isla and Olivia's brother were in a normal relationship. When young people get carried away, taking a few intimate videos is no big deal. You're not that young anymore, Nora. Do you have to be this much of a killjoy?" "Olivia only has this one brother, and I promised her I would protect him. As for divorce…" With a disdainful laugh, Liam lifted a hand and tore the divorce papers pinned to the arrow into pieces. "Nora, we got married in Ireland. Have you forgotten? Unless one of us dies, divorce isn't allowed there." "I don't like women who don't know their place. You should learn to be more sensible." After tossing out those cold words, he scooped Olivia into his arms and walked away. With her arms looped around his neck, Olivia shot Nora a smug, provocative smile. Nora knew then that whatever had existed between them was over for good. Before this, everyone had said Liam was the sharpest blade she had ever wielded. When she was eighteen, he had gouged out the eyes of the stepfather who coveted her, placed them in a pink gift box, and given them to her as an eighteenth birthday present. "If you were born into a family like this, you were never meant to be the moon high in the sky." Looking at Isla, who still depended on her to survive, Nora had smiled and torn up her university acceptance letter. "Then let's destroy ourselves together." When she was twenty-two, she had fallen into the hands of his enemies while trying to save him. They had cut open her stomach and taken her child, leaving her unable to bear children ever again. He had stormed into the enemy's hideout, emptied seventy-one rounds, and, standing over a floor littered with corpses, lit three sticks of incense for their child. When she was twenty-five, she had helped him go legitimate and wash his hands clean. He became the respected Mr. Bennett, admired by all, yet the beautiful, seductive women around him never seemed to disappear. Liam had taken Nora's hand and carved the words "For Nora Only" into the inside of his thigh with the tip of a knife. That night, he had pinned her against the floor-to-ceiling window and f****d her until her legs gave out beneath her. With her earlobe between his teeth, he had murmured, "Everyone only sees the polished, respectable CEO. You're the only one who's seen me at my worst—at my filthiest, my ugliest."
