Lisa
There were voices that were talking over me. I could not place as to where I was. One minute I was entering in the stats for softball team then the next I had no clue where I was. My head was hurting and it felt like my eyes weighted a ton. I was trying so hard to open my eyes so that I could see who the voices belonged to. Slowly my eyes were cracking open just a little but the light was starting to hurt them so I closed them back really fast. The voices seemed to be getting louder kind of like they moving around me as I stayed in one place. I really needed to open my eyes. Finally I was able to open at least one eye to see what was going on around me.
“Chance? Dad? Jett? What is going on?” I was able to get out in a croaking voice. All three men turned around to see what I had said kind of like I did not really say anything but just made a small sound. “Water Please” My throat was so dry that I really thought it was like the Sarah desert. Before I could even really make the request a water bottle appeared in front of my face. The water tasted so good it was like the best water that I had ever tasted.
“Lisa are you ok please tell me what happened to you?” Chance started to gently stroke my hair out of my face. It was so nice that I closed my eyes so that I could enjoy it more and more. If I could stay like this forever I would. This was like my dream come true the man that I secretly love is stroking me like I was the most important person to him. “Lisa please answer me I just need to know what I need to do for you.” Chance asked again when he saw that my eyes were closed and that I had not answered him.
“I am ok I promise. I just had a black out moment. I promise it will all be ok.” I placed my hand on his cheek just so that I could feel what his skin felt like at least one time. All I could do was look into his eyes as I looked at him.
“Can you tell us what happened to you?” Chance was asking but as I looked around him I could see my dad standing there like he really wanted to take me in his arms for a hug. My dad knew that it had something to do with my moms death but he did not know everything that happened that day and I really did not want him to know because it would break his heart all over again. I could not let me dad ever know that secret. I just could not.
“I believe it was the heat. I may have not had enough water to drink today and then sitting out in the hot sun just made me black out. I really believe that is what it was.” I stated as I started to sit up on the couch. As soon as I sat up the world started to spot but then it stopped as soon as I took a deep breath. It was almost like my body was craving oxygen. “ I promise all three of you I am fine. I just need to take my time getting back to my apartment so that I can lay down and rest that is all.”
Chance was holding on to me like I was going to black out again at any moment. My dad just looked at me with that sad look he always got when he knew that I was fibbing. Jett just shook his head at me like he could not believe how stupid I was being.
“Lisa, Jett and I will walk you back to your apartment. Better yet we will drive you over there and stay until your room mate comes back after her practice. We can do our homework there that way we can keep an eye on you to make sure that nothing else happens.” Chance turned to look at my father as he explained what he and Jett were going to do.
