Hey, it's Kim K here. Well, I'm new and this is my first book. Thanks for reading. ... ᴀᴠᴇʀʏ's ᴘᴏᴠ. "Come on Aves, it's only one night." "No" "It's not as if you need to study or anything. Highschool is over, no more tests and no more final exams to study for. What's you're excuse this time?" "Tess, am not a party person. You know this. I don't even understand why you still try." Meet Tess, my annoying, overly persistent best friend. She'd be damned if she took no for an answer which is one trait of hers that irks me to no end. "I said no yesterday, I'll say no today, tomorrow I'll still give you the same damn answer. Tess, seriously don't you ever know when to take no for an answer?" I ask exasperated. She has been trying to convince me for the past one week to join her so that we can go clubbing. Well am not a party person. I find it illogical to have fun by drinking alcohol and being irresponsible. I mean come on, does waking up with a throbbing headache and no memory of the past few hours of your life sound like fun to you? If it does, then you are one twisted person as per my book. No offence. Fun to me is sitting in the library, at home and loosing myself in a book. Whether it's a romance novel or a chemistry text book, to me it doesn't really matter. Maybe I'm the twisted one, maybe not. We'll never know. Call me a nerd, a bookworm, or whatever you want to call me but , yeah that's who I am and I have no apologies whatsoever. I'm simply Avery Anderson, the girl who'd rather stay at home buried in books than go to a party or in this case a club. Heck am only 17, although I'll be 18 next week the 4th of December, but still, I'm not of legal age yet. "Plus, we may have finally graduated from highschool, but we are not of legal age to go clubbing." I say with certainty hoping that finally she'll drop the subject. And to my utter disappointment, she just laughs it off. "With this" she says pointing to her body, "you think we won't get in. Please, Aves you're out of excuses. And if it makes you feel any better, the club is owned by my cousin Jason, so we won't have a problem going in nor accessing drinks. We'll be safe I promise." Tess is the epitome of beauty. She's a 5'4 blond with blue eyes, a slim shape and long legs she ain't afraid to show. She's confident with her body and dresses in cropped tops almost showing her bra and mini skirts which I find too short for my liking. Yeah, she's confident like that. Back in highschool, boys worshipped the ground she walked on and girls wanted to be her. While on the other side am the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong though, I pride myself in my beauty. Am a brunette with green eyes. My height stands at 5'7 I pretty much tower over most girls. Sure, I've had my share of crushes but never acted on them. My dressing code involves dresses, jeans and tee-shirts. But that's only because mother won't allow me to go anywhere in my sweatshirts and sweat pants which are pretty comfortable if I do say so myself. Am not confident enough to show too much skin and am good with that. Speaking of mother.... "Tess, you know what mother thinks about this and what she'd do to me if she even found out that I went to a club and, how sure are you that Jason won't tell on us?" At this point, am trying desperately to find a reason not to go. Any reason not to. "I understand that, and you don't need to worry about Jason. He owes me a favour and it's high time I cash in." She spots a distant look as if remembering some life threatening secret. Well there goes my hopes and efforts crashing, mercilessly... " What you need to do is to live a little. You've been cooked up in this place since forever. You don't even have a social life for f**k's sake." "I do have a social life, thank you very much." I say defensively raising my chin and smoothing my dress out like mother taught me. "Oh yeah," She says smugly. "Name any other friend you have apart from me of course." Oh shoot, am screwed. Clearing my throat I say, "well, there is Charlie." "He's your butler, Avery. He has no choice but to talk to you. You are his boss' daughter gaddamn it." She says exasperated. "Aves you're out of excuses. You need to let loose. Just one night, one night. Live like a teenager not like a f*****g grown up. I promise if you don't like it, I'll never bring this up again." I instantly frown at her wording. Grown up. It's not my fault I had to grow up earlier than intended, is it? Shaking my head to get rid of the oncoming thoughts, I consider her words. It's only one night right? I won't have to drink any alcoholic drink. I'll accompany her, stay with her and discharge our driver so that I'll have the excuse of being the designated driver. Then I'll come back home and prepare for university and am back to normal. We only have one more month to hang out together before we're both off to different universities. Am pursuing medicine while she wants to pursue fashion and design. Sighing heavily as a sign of defeat, I finally agree. I mean what harm can one night do? Right? "Okay. But only for two hours then we go home." She squeals excitedly and hugs me tightly, "you won't regret it. I promise." She says while swaying our bodies while still hugging me tightly. I let out a laugh at her excited self. "How are we going to get past mother. You know she has only one more week of tolerating me before I finally sign off dad's wealth to her." As long as she pays for my university I have no problem with that. I can work for myself and earn even more. I take after my dad after all. "Don't worry I've got it covered. We'll come up with the excuse of a sleep over at mine. She'll definitely agree to it. Then everything will play out well." Sighing I say, "you had this figured out already, ha?" "Yes, bish! We are going to par-ty. Thank f**k you finally agreed." She says while doing a jazz move which sends me into fits of laughter. No regrets, right? __________________________ Hello people, soooo what'd ya think? Comment. Tell me what you think I'll appreciate it. ?kthagreat
