Chapter 5 - Ada is ill!
After Yash left, Ada placed both her hands gently on her abdomen and closed her eyes. A lone tear rolled down her cheek, but she quickly opened her eyes, pulling herself together.

Meanwhile, elsewhere...
A 15-story glass building stood tall, its sleek facade reflecting the city skyline. In bold letters, the name "TriStar" adorned its exterior. Today, the atmosphere inside was unlike any ordinary day. Excitement buzzed through the floors as employees celebrated receiving unexpected bonuses, reinvigorating their enthusiasm for work.
On the topmost floor, a young man holding a coffee mug knocked on the door of a luxurious office cabin.
"Come in!" a firm voice called from within.
The young man entered briskly and casually took a seat in one of the chairs near the desk. The man seated on the main chair, with an air of authority, glared at him and said, "Nirnay! What are you doing here?"
"Bro!" Nirnay exclaimed, grinning. "You got married and didn’t even tell us! Advik and I waited for you last night, only to hear from one of your guards that you had taken Ada away."
"So?" the authoritative voice replied, laced with disinterest.
"Are you serious? Bro, you can’t just bring any random woman to your villa! What if the media finds out?"
The man sighed deeply and replied in a cold tone, "She’s my wife now. I don’t care what anyone thinks."
The revelation stunned Nirnay, who almost choked on his coffee. He coughed, his eyes wide, and repeated, "Wife? Did I hear that right? Wife?"
"Yes, exactly what you heard," came the unflinching reply.
Nirnay hastily pulled out his phone, dialed a number, and spoke animatedly to someone. A moment later, the cabin door burst open with a loud bang. Advik stormed in, dragging a chair to sit beside Nirnay.
The man at the desk glared at the duo, his expression hardening. However, neither Nirnay nor Advik seemed bothered. Instead, they stared at him with questioning eyes.
After a long, awkward silence, Advik finally broke it. "Brother, what’s going on? When did you get married? How? And when were you planning to tell us? Did she even agree? Come on, spill everything!"
Overwhelmed by the barrage of questions, the man slammed his hand on the desk and snapped, "Shut up, you idiots! This isn’t a marketplace!"
Chastised, the duo sheepishly fell silent, though Advik couldn’t resist muttering in a lower voice, "But, brother, at least tell us what happened."
Rolling his eyes in irritation, the man narrated the events of the previous night.
By the end of his story, both Advik and Nirnay sat in stunned silence, mouths agape.
Finally fed up, the man dismissed them. The rest of the day flew by in a whirlwind of work, and by 7 p.m., the man found himself parked outside Ada's café, as promised.
Dialing her number, he said curtly, "Come outside. I’m waiting."
Ada, busy in her cabin, replied in a cold tone, "I’m still working. If you want to leave, feel free," and hung up.
Her abruptness infuriated him. Clenching his jaw, he stepped out of his car and entered the café.
Inside her cabin, Ada wore a pair of blue-tinted glasses, her fingers dancing across her laptop’s keyboard. Her focused demeanor made her appear even more intimidating.
Hearing the door open, she glanced up briefly before returning to her work. Ignored, the man silently locked the door behind him and approached her desk. Without a word, he closed her laptop, drawing a sharp glare from her.
Unfazed by her anger, he pulled her up and led her to the sofa in the corner, sitting her down firmly before looming over her.
Ada stared at him, stunned. His intense gaze held hers as he leaned closer, capturing her lips in a sudden kiss.
For him, the world seemed to fade away as his eyes fluttered shut. For her, shock coursed through her veins. She pushed against him, trying to break free, but he didn’t relent.
After a few moments, an unsettling sensation made her gather all her strength. Shoving him away, she scrambled off the sofa and fled to the washroom.
Surprised, the man composed himself and followed her. What he saw upon entering the washroom left him frozen.
Ada was hunched over near the commode, vomiting violently. Both her hands clutched her abdomen tightly, her face pale and contorted in pain.
Rushing to her side, he knelt down, gently rubbing her back to comfort her. Minutes passed, and Ada began to feel slightly better. Despite her protests, he scooped her up in his arms and carried her out to the car.
The car sped through the city, leaving streets and intersections behind. Ada soon realized they weren’t headed to the villa or his house. Confused, she looked at him, silently questioning his intentions. But he gave no response.
Suddenly, a sharp, searing pain shot through her abdomen, forcing a painful cry from her lips. She clutched her stomach tightly, her face twisting in agony. Instinctively, she grabbed his shirt sleeve, her fingers trembling.
Moments later, the car screeched to a halt outside a hospital. Wasting no time, he carried her inside.
Minutes turned into an eternity as he paced outside the ward. Inside, Ada spoke softly with the doctor. When the doctor finally emerged, her face bore traces of concern.
“What happened, doctor?” he asked, his voice sharp.
“Nothing serious, Mr. Khurana. Your wife is fine now,” she replied hesitantly.
“Doctor,” he pressed, his tone firm, “what exactly happened to her?”
The doctor hesitated before answering, “It appears that some kind of medication was injected into her body, causing the reaction.”
His expression darkened. “Hmm. You can leave now,” he said, dismissing her.
Once alone, he muttered to himself, "Something’s definitely being hidden from me. Ada and that doctor think they can fool me, but they’re underestimating who they’re dealing with."
Determined, he entered the ward to confront Ada.
