Chapter 12
In the morning, Anne told him to help himself to coffee and cereal and that he could shower once Theo was gone for the morning. He thanked her profusely even after she waved it off as no big deal. On his way out of the door, he dialed Kent’s number.
“Hey, Patrick, tell me you’ve got good news.”
“News so bad it can only be good. How soon can we be into the apartment?”
“You’ve got a job?”
“I’m going to take the job at the chicken plant. Hiring fair is next week. I have enough for the deposit and two month’s rent and food so, let’s do this.”
“Okay. I’ll need to talk to her today, make sure it’s all good. We should be able to get in there tomorrow or the day after.”
