Fight the plight

Daara was thinking about Sophia. How did a kiss from her give him this power? He could read minds now. Really! Daara was mesmerized by Sophia. He really enjoyed the kiss. He was continuously thinking about her.

'No!!!' shouted Daara. 'I shouldn't think about her. I will be distracted from my goal.'

'I should think about the story. Why did Aditi trap Erica and his sons? I don't think so. This must be a misunderstanding. But Xander heard Aditi saying she was going to trap and kill a woman and five other warriors!'

'Sleep,' said a pleasant voice.

Daara was already tired. Hearing that voice made him feel asleep.

Soon he had fallen asleep.

'Wake up Daara!' said a feminine voice.

'Yes. Sophia!'

'Sophia will be there at evening,' said a husky voice.

'Have breakfast Daara,' said a heavy masculine voice.

After 30 minutes.

'I will continue the narration,' said a husky voice.

'See...' said Daara.

'We know your assumption,' said a feminine voice.

'Lets move now,' said a heavy masculine voice.

'Where are we going?' said Daara.

'No more questions, Daara,' said a feminine voice.

'Listen, Daara,' said a husky voice.

Xander ran as quick as he could. He went straight into brother Beckett's room. Beckett was just awake.

'What happened, Xander?' asked Beckett. 'Xander!!'

'B.....Brother Beckett,' said Xander. 'I....I heard h..her highness talking about....about us.'

'Xander, anything serious?'

'I...I heard her conversation with...with a Yoddha named Jay.'

'What did you hear?' asked Beckett.

'S...She is p...planning to....to k....kk...kill us.'

'Are you sure, Xander?'

'Y...Yes brother Beckett. I...I heard her saying that they will k...kill us tonight alongwith mother Erica.'

(Poor Xander.)

'Hmmm...I can't believe this,' said Beckett.

'W...What should we do now?' asked Xander.

'Let us inform king Mahadev. If king Mahadev was involved then he would have arrested or killed us instantly when we entered his border. He appears to be a good man. Also, he is an old acquaintance of father. I think we can trust him. Let us inform king Mahadev. I am sure he could help us.'

(WHAT? NO!!!)

'Yes brother Bec. Erm..I mean, no brother Bec.'

'What do you mean, Xander?' said, frustrated Beckett.

'Just think brother Beckett who will he side with? His daughter and kingdom or his acquaintance's sons and wife.'

(Clever.)

'You are right,' said Beckett. 'Are you sure Aditi is involved in this? I still can't believe it.'

'Jay had mentioned that he had called Aditi urgently,' said Xander. 'It was Aditi who mentioned six people and one of them being woman.'

'I can't take this decision alone. Xander, bring everyone to mother Erica's room,' said, panicked Beckett.

'Brother Dwayne won't believe me. I think...'

'I get it, Xander. I will talk to him. G...Go tell others about the situation. Assemble in mother's room. I will bring Dwayne.'

(God!!)

Beckett went to Dwayne's room. He was still asleep. Beckett sat at the edge of the bed.

Dwayne said, 'Sorry brother Bec. I know I should have been awake by now.'

'No its okay, Dwayne.'

'I was a bit tired....'

'Had a good sleep, Dwayne?'

'Ummm....Yes. Is everything okay? Any issues? Should I....'

'No....No, Dwayne. It is still quite early. Don't wake up this early. I am sorry to disturb your sleep.'

'Any issues brother Bec?' pressed Dwayne.

'Umm....No, not really. You didn't sleep well?' asked Beckett.

'Yes. New place. New bed. These mattresses are so soft. Still I couldn't sleep.'

'Yaa...Hard night, right? It must been difficult for you?'

(Poor Beckett.)

'What are you talking about brother Beckett? There is something that is troubling you. Tell me brother Bec. I know you came here for help.'

'Come with me. I wanted to meet mother Erica,' said Beckett.

'What is the reason and why do you need me along?' enquired Dwayne.

'Just come along, Dwayne,' shouted Beckett.

'Sure,' mumbled Dwayne.

Xander went to Xavier's room and then took him along to Anthony's room.

'I heard her highness talking about us,' said Xander.

'What did she say?' asked Xavier.

'She is planning to kill us. I...I have told this to brother Bec. Why are so scared.'

'We are not scared. I...I mean I am not scared. I am stunned,' said Anthony.

'I am not stunned or scared. I am in disbelief,' said Xavier.

'We have to assemble in mother's room,' said Xander.

'Lets go,' said Anthony.

Dwayne followed Beckett. Both were tensed. As they entered mother Erica's room, the younger ones were already assembled.

'Did you tell him brother Bec?' asked Xander.

'Not yet,' sas Beckett. 'Mother do you....'

'You should have, Beckett,' said Erica. 'Dwayne is strong enough to handle this.'

'Can someone tell me what is the matter?' shouted Dwayne.

'I...I eavesdropped on her highness, Aditi.'

'What? Why?' said, stunned Dwayne.

'I....I c...came to know t...that s...she was p...planning to k..kk..kill us.'

'What are you talking, Xander?'asked Dwayne. 'Have you lost your sense. Brother Beckett is this what you wanted to tell me?' asked, stunned Dwayne.

'Yes,' mumbled Beckett.

'And you trust him?' said, angry Beckett.

'We all trust him,' said Anthony.

'Even I trust him,' said Dwayne. 'B..but there may be a possibility t..that he must have m...misunderstood her.'

'Son, let's not assume anything. Just be careful. Believe in the supreme god.'

'Hail supremo!!'

'Hail supremo!!'

Dwayne couldn't believe. Is it really a trap? From what he understood Aditi she isn't one to trap and kill. She could have attacked us right at the border. He didn't believe, Xander. He was sure he must have misunderstood, Aditi.

'Sorry brother Beckett but I don't believe, Xander. He must have misunderstood, Aditi.'

'Who misunderstood me?' asked, suprised Aditi.

(Her spying skills! She must have heard their conversation.)

Anthony was ready to fire an arrow while Xavier had drawn his sword. Xander threw Beckett's spear towards Beckett and covered mother Erica. Dwayne faced Aditi straight into her eyes.

'No one has misunderstood you Aditi,' affirmed Dwayne.

'I am s...sorry,' said Aditi. 'I entered without p...permission. Is there any problem.'

'Don't try to be smart,' said Xavier. 'Surrender. We will spare your life.'

'I am sorry brother Beckett,' said Dwayne. 'But I don't think this is right.'

(Dwayne has defected.)

Beckett was profusely sweating. He sensed danger.

'Alert! Five of them,' shouted Beckett.

'She is alone brother Beckett,' said, confused Xavier.

'Yes,' said Xander. 'I don't sense anyone except seven of us.'

'Near the window!!' exclaimed Beckett.

Nobody understood what Beckett intended to warn about except Anthony. But then they heard an arrow which swooshed through an open window. Beckett had warned about this arrow. Anthony was ready for it. He fired his arrow. Nobody was hurt. The arrow was shooted with Aditi as the target.

'Everybody out of the room,' said Beckett.

'It appeared somebody aimed an arrow at Aditi,' said Dwayne.

'Don't support her brother, Dwayne. It maybe her plan,' said Xavier.

'What are you talking about, Xavier? What have I done?' questioned Aditi.

'I heard your conversation,' said Xander. 'Your plan is leaked.'

'Oh!' said Aditi. 'I was here regarding it.'

'See, I told you,' said Xander.

'I was here to take blessings of queen Erica,' said Aditi.

'Wait...what?' said, shocked Anthony.

'Yes,' said Aditi. 'But I didn't thought they would know this plan so early that they dared to attack me in the Bhavan itself.'

While the conversation was going on Dwayne understood that Aditi wasn't planning to kill us. Anthony and Beckett were alert. Dwayne could see a sense of humiliation on his brothers faces. They knew that they had misunderstood her. Dwayne knew he could trust her and he trusted her.

'Get your mace, Dwayne. You would need it,' said Beckett.

'I don't sense anyone nearby,' said Xander.

'Be alert,' said Aditi. 'They are skilled archers. Don't leave Dwayne alone. Lets follow him.'

'I have got my mace,' said Dwayne. 'Where to now?'

'They must have escaped by now.'

'No, they are suicidal,' said Aditi. 'They kill or get killed.'

'Do you know them?' asked Anthony.

'I came here to kill their leaders,' said Aditi.

'Who is that woman?' asked Xander.

'I don't know,' said Aditi. 'It is a mystery. We have to find out.'

'I sense five people,' said Xander. 'All men.'

'No. I hear six people's footsteps,' said Beckett. 'One is different. Somewhat like D....Dwayne.'

'What do you mean?' asked, shocked Dwayne.

Anthony said, 'Alert! I see five of them.'

They surrounded mother Erica. Anthony was the first to fire arrows. He fired three arrows one after the other, in quick succession. They saw two masked men running towards them. Beckett and Xavier ran towards them. Xavier beheaded the first while brother Beckett pierced other. Xander was profusely sweating.

Dwayne said, 'Xander, why are you so tensed. They were hardly any match for us.'

'B....Brother Dwayne. T...There are...' fumbled Xander.

'Atleast 30 of them,' said Beckett.

'I sense 37,' said Xander. 'Aditi I also sense, Jay. And....'

'He must have brought help,' said Aditi.

'I smell blood, Aditi,' said Dwayne.

'Alert!' exclaimed Anthony.

'No!' shouted Xander. 'Jay is bleeding.'

'Keep your voice down!' whispered Beckett.

'How are you so sure Xander that Jay is bleeding?' murmured Aditi.

'I sense breathing,' whispered Xander. 'His breathing rate has increased. He is profusely bleeding maybe internally. He is injured badly.'

'Why aren't you attacking,' said Anthony. 'Are you afraid. I am Anthony, son of Manu and Erica. I challenge you to fight with me.'

'How do know this, Xander?' said Erica.

'I can sense slight change in oxygen. By calculations I predict number of humans around. My sense is heightened when I panic so I am sure about it.'

'What is your range?' asked Aditi.

'Maybe five hundred metres,' replied Xander.

'Alert! They are moving,' said Beckett. 'Kill as many as you can. Xander guard mother and her highness.'

'I won't stay back, Beckett,' growled Aditi. 'They attacked me.'

'They want to hurt you,' said Dwayne. 'Stay back, Aditi. Don't let them win. Keep a watch on Jay.'

'Her highness, you could protect my dear brother, Xander,' said Xavier.

'Very funny,' said Xander.

'They are attacking,' said Beckett 'Attacking mode! Xavier with me.'

'Yes brother.'

Dwayne said, 'Xander, move forward. I will protect mother and Aditi.'

'But...'

'DO IT, Xander.' said Dwayne.

'Yes.'

'Alert! Aditi.'

'Yes.'

Xander went towards Anthony. Xavier beheaded nine attackers while brother Beckett pierced seven of them. Anthony was shooting two arrows at a time. He killed fourteen of them. Xander killed four attackers with his axe. Three of them somehow escaped and ran straight forward towards Aditi. Dwayne ran into them. He whacked his mace. Single shot. Their skulls were cracked. They were dead.

'All done,' said Dwayne. 'Is everyone unharmed.'

'Yes,' said Xander.

Beckett shouted, 'DWAYNE!!!'

Aditi exclaimed, 'DWAYNE!!!'

Dwayne was tackled by someone. It was Aditi. She was lying beside him. He couldn't believe how she could tackle him. Dwayne was atleast twice the weight of Aditi and not to forget Dwayne was seven feet tall. Dwayne shouted, 'Aditi!!! Wake up dear. WAKE!!! Are you okay. Say a DAMN WORD. Speak UP!!!!!'

Has Aditi died? Is Jay alive? Who is that mysterious woman? Who attacked Dwayne? Tell us Daara.

Daara said, 'Aditi must be alive. I don't know about Jay. But my gut feeling says he must be alive. I don't know who attacked Dwayne. And that mysterious woman must be....'

'That's enough, Daara,' said a heavy masculine voice.

'You have passed your test,' said a feminine voice. 'I will continue the narration.'
