Dwayne's prowess

Dwayne looked around. He saw a creature which he had never seen. He was about the same height as Dwayne. He was green in colour. He had fangs from which blood was dropping.

(Oh! Great God.)

Xavier exclaimed, 'Mandha!!'

Xander murmured, 'M...Mandha!'

'Careful Dwayne,' said Beckett. 'They are stronger than humans. Protect her highness.'

'My arrows aren't piercing him,' said Anthony.

'Nothing passes through their tough and scaly skin,' said Xavier. 'Stay away everyone.'

'Ah!! Intelligent,' said the Mandha. 'No interested in human males. Want human female. Young one.'

'Dwayne, are you okay,' whispered Aditi.

'Yes dear,' said, crying Dwayne. 'Why did you do it....Why?'

'Ah!!!' laughed Mandha. 'Queen Erica. Long time no see.'

'I thought you were dead, Simphox'

Simphox said, 'Not easy. Kill me queen. Give me young lady. I free you.'

'I DAMN HATE HIS ENGLISH,' shouted, enraged Dwayne.

(Me too.)

He tackled him hard. His skin was scaly and slippery. He aimed for his head. He had hit him hard with his mace. Simphox was down and hurt. As Dwayne intended for the second blow, Simphox got hold of his mace. Simphox was strong and easily overpowered Dwayne. Dwayne kicked him on his face and threw the mace. Dwayne punched him hard. Again and again. Dwayne broke his fangs and then twisted his neck. He was dead. Simphox didn't even have a chance against Dwayne. He couldn't even cry with pain.

(Woah!)

Xavier said, 'Clever brother Dwayne, Mandhas are said to be weakened when their fangs are broken.'

'I just wanted to break his face. I cracked his skull too.'

'Pull out his tail brother Dwayne,' said Xander.

'Why?' said Dwayne.

Xavier said, 'It will ensure he doesn't heal himself. It is said that if tail of Mandha is....'

'Wrecked his tail. What he will not self heal himself? Right!' said Dwayne.

'Yes,' said Xavier.

'So is he dead now?' asked Dwayne. 'Should I check whether he is dead or....'

'We saw that handsome,' said, smiling Aditi. 'We heard the sound of his broken neck and crackled skull. He is dead.'

'Why don't you say we heard his sound of death,' said Xander.

Anthony asked Xander, 'Why didn't you sense this Simphox guy?'

'I don't know.'

Xavier said, 'Because he inhales carbon dioxide. Xander cannot sense a change in it.'

'Aditi's breathing rate has increased,' said, panicked Xander.

'Aditi, are you okay?' said Dwayne.

'Y...Yes. L...Look for Jay.'

'Xavier take care of Aditi,' said Dwayne. 'Xander, any signs of Jay.'

'Low breathing rate...' said Xander.

'He is walking,' said Beckett. 'He is nearby.'

'I will look for him,' said Anthony.

'Xavier, what is the condition of Aditi?' asked Erica.

'She is stable. Just a few bruises. She was breathing a bit faster because of bleeding. I will check on her further.....'

Xavier checked for injuries on Aditi's body. He always carried basic medicines. He took a herb and crushed it with his hands. He rubbed it over Aditi's bruises. Everyone was stunned. As if the herbs had done magic, Aditi was up on her legs after a few seconds.

'I feel good,' said Aditi.

'Hey!!!' exclaimed Xavier. 'I haven't treated you yet. This herbal paste is just painkiller. I have to take you to my room. There I can give you proper medicines and tend your wounds. Brother Dwayne please come along.'

Dwayne said, 'Sure.'

Xavier said, 'Ensure that she doesn't walk.'

'Of course my dear medical maestro.'

Jay shouted, 'Aditi!!'

'Jay!' said, frightened Aditi. 'What happened to you.'

'I'm sorry,' whispered Jay. 'I couldn't save the king.'

Aditi asked, 'What happened to the king?'

Jay murmured, 'He is in danger. He will be attacked.'

'Xavier treat him quickly,' said Anthony. 'He is profusely bleeding.'

'Mister Jay if you don't mind, I would like to treat you,' said Xavier.

Jay said, 'There is no time for treatment.'

Xander said, 'He is unconscious.'

'He has to be treated quickly,' said Xavier. 'To my room. Quick.'

Dwayne lifted Aditi in his arms while Anthony lifted Jay. They were in Xavier's room. Xavier and Xander wore an apron. Xander too knew basic medicine. He was treating Aditi while Xavier was treating Jay. Dwayne was staring at Aditi. Beckett and Erica were discussing about further plans. Anthony was talking with the guards. There were only 4 alive out of 108. Simphox himself had killed 80 of them. Dwayne was called by Beckett and Erica.

Beckett said, 'Dwayne, is her highness healthy now.'

'She appears to be healthy,' said Dwayne.

'Son, I wanted to tell you about Simphox.'

'Ah!' said Dwayne. 'He is dead.'

'Yes,' said Beckett. 'Do you know who he is?'

'He is a Mandha,' said Dwayne.

'Chief of the green Mandhas,' said Erica. 'Even your father couldn't beat him alone. He required uncle Charlie and Chevolt. Still he managed to escape from them.'

'So what do you want to say mother?' asked Dwayne. 'Do you mean I am more powerful than father.'

'Maybe my dear son.'

'No, I don't think so. My physical strength was a plus point against Simphox. He was shorter than me. I got a good shot at him. I was enraged. That doubles my power. I was just against a right enemy whom I could easily beat. I am no match to father.'

'Your being modest my dear son,' said Erica.

'This attack was pre-planned,' said Anthony. 'Target was Aditi. If she didn't have come to take mother's blessings then she would have been dead.'

'What about the king?' asked Beckett.

'No information till now,' said Anthony. 'Security around him has been tightened up. No attacks till now.'

'We should check on Jay,' said Dwayne. 'If he awakens then we would know more details.'

Beckett nodded and they moved towards Xavier and Xander.

Xavier said, 'You are doing a good job nurse.'

'You are humiliating brother Xavier.'

'I am complimenting, Xander.'

'Xavier, what is the condition of Jay?' questioned Beckett.

'Luckily his internal bleeding has stopped on its own. Maybe due to trauma.'

Xander said 'How do you know that? You didn't even properly operate him.'

Xavier said, 'I administered him a cocktail of herb juice. If internal bleeding would have existed then his body would have reacted. But there isn't any reaction.'

'I cleaned and treated Aditi's bruises,' said Xander.

'I am good to fight,' asked Aditi.

'Yes,' said Xavier. 'Now leave me alone guys. Let me perform some minor surgeries.'

Everyone vacated the room. Aditi was tensed for her father. A soldier came from royal palace. He gave Aditi the news about king's safety and the measures taken for it. Aditi gave a message to the soldier and he left to deliver it back. Xavier came out and told them that the surgeries were successful.

Dwayne said, 'Aditi promise you won't do it again.'

'I would do it a hundred times to save you.'

'Don't you know your life is precious,' shouted Dwayne.

'So is yours,' said Aditi. 'You don't know your calibre. You are way more powerful than you think.'

'But promise me you would never do such a foolish thing again,' said Dwayne.

'But.....'

'I said promise, Aditi,' pressed Dwayne.

'I will try,' said, smiling Aditi.

'Your highness you are very strong,' said Beckett. 'Though you are skinny you could tackle, Dwayne.'

'I will take that as a compliment,' said Aditi. 'How could you hear with such accuracy.'

'I could hear faintest of sounds,' said Beckett. 'My range is about half a kilometre, at any height.'

'So that's you could even hear the arrow,' said Aditi. 'That's great.'

'Yes,' said Beckett.

'Dwayne, what is the range of your smell,' about half a kilometre.

'Same range as Beckett's,' said Aditi.

'Me eyesight has a range of about 250 metres,' said Anthony.

'What about you, Xavier?' said Aditi.

'I have great sense of touch,' said Xavier. 'Even a slight change such as in temperature, pulse and even feelings can be noted by me.'

'Great, Xavier,' aur Aditi.

Jay came out and said,

'Is the king safe?'

'Yes,' said Aditi. 'There hasn't been an attack on him yet.'

'You didn't meet him yet?'

'N..No,' said frightened Aditi.

'Hurry,' said Jay. 'The king is in danger.'

Is king really in danger? Can Jay he trusted? How could Dwayne kill such a powerful being? Who is trying to kill the king? Daara, answer us.

Daara said, 'King surely is in danger. Jay can be trusted as Aditi trusts him. If Jay was a shady character then Aditi would never believed him. She has a habit of spying over people, so she would know about his truth. Dwayne explained about how he was able to kill Simphox. Simphox was against wrong opponent at wrong time. I don't know who is trying to kill King Mahadev but I suspect.....'

'Daara!!!' said a pleasant masculine voice. 'Your reason for believing Jay's trust was a good perspective but isn't the truth. The truth is Yoddhas are a race in which promises play an integral role. Long back Yoddhas had promised Rishi Vijay that they would guide humans and Yoddhas of Astralaya promised that they would always serve the throne of Astralaya. Thus, Jay can't cheat Aditi as she is the crown princess.'

'So,' said Daara. 'If king Mahadev says to kill Aditi then will Jay do it?'

'Yes,' said the pleasant masculine voice. 'I will continue the narration.'
