He stormed down the hallway, the students quickly getting out of his way as he went. Lucas was flustered, more than flustered even. Irritated didn't even begin to describe his current mood right then. Who was that boy and why was he so damned interested in Lucas? The vampire didn't want anyone's attention, didn't want to get to know anyone. Nothing! Especially a hot, green eyed human who had an ego larger than the school itself!
Wait... had he really just thought of the boy as 'hot'? Lucas ducked into an empty hallway, one hand reaching up to cover his face as he leaned against the wall. Damn it all to hell. Why? Why him? Tyrathane had been absolutely right; he had been Lucas' type. What was even more infuriating was that Tyrathane had known it the moment he said it.
"Lucas?"
He turned to his name, his eyes settling upon L'liya, a beautiful vampire. She had orange colored eyes, with yellow hair and a pale complexion. Stunning was a better word to describe her.
"L'liya..." he muttered in return.
"What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Lucas rolled his eyes. Tyrathane didn't look anything like Ahndrai did. His ears had piercings along the top of each, and a single earring in his right lobe. He was the same height as Lucas was... well just a bit taller really. Ahndrai hadn't had any piercings and he had been the shorter one. The only similarities were the gorgeous green eyes and black hair. Albeit Tyrathane's hair had been just a bit longer, falling forward to cover his forehead and eyes.
"No, just a bothersome human. What is it, L'liya?"
Her eyebrow lifted as she regarded him carefully. When he didn't comment further and only narrowed his eyes, she sighed.
"Straight to business again. Would it kill you to enjoy something every now and then?" "You know the reason," he whispered back, his voice coarse with a multitude of emotions, "Now, what happened?"
"A couple of things actually. I guess I'll start with the least important. They want you to find your partner. It's been a couple years, Lucas. I know it's hard but you have to let go of Ahndrai. They are starting to say that if you don't bring one yourself, they will force someone onto you."
"They can try, what else?"
L'liya sighed heavily again, putting her hands on her hips, "There's been another increase in Stalkers. In the past two weeks their numbers have nearly doubled."
"So quickly," Lucas remarked breathlessly. His eyes had widened in shock from the news. After a moment he turned away and glared at the floor.
"The last thing, and it's important to keep quiet about this," she leaned forward, dropping her voice, "Stalkers have infiltrated the school. Also the reason for them wanting you to find a new companion. You're going to need as much strength as you can get."
Lucas raised his head sharply at her final words. Stalkers had gotten into the school? His heart skipped a beat, the blood in his face draining as his first few thoughts were very unpleasant ones. The vampire swallowed dryly, trying to get his thoughts back in order.
"Any clues to names or even what they may look like?"
L'liya shook her head, "Sorry Lucas. We weren't able to get that info."
Tch. He turned away, arms folded across his chest as he made the sound out of irritation. That certainly made things very difficult. There was no way to tell who was a Stalker and who wasn't until it was too late. Memories of Vahn resurfaced and Lucas turned to look at L'liya, an eyebrow raised, "Vahn?"
The vampire shrugged her shoulders, crossing her arms as she answered, "Not a peep from the bastard. However, I feel same as you. I'm sure he's around and it would be no surprise if he was the one behind this."
"We have to find him. For all that he's done..."
"I know. Kill him on sight. They think the same too."
Lucas nodded slowly, a solemn look on his pale face. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he started back down the hall with L'liya falling in step right beside him.
"We'll start going after Stalkers tonight. Keep an eye out for Vahn. It doesn't matter if he's around people or not. Kill the bastard."
"Of course," L'liya replied with a grin and left him. She soon disappeared into the throng of students. Lucas continued on his way to the next class, not that he really needed to. It was mostly to keep appearances and also because needed to protect the students there. Though after the incident with Vahn and Ahndrai, Lucas gave up his school presidential position; thus losing a lot of valuable time.
He'd used to be able to prowl the halls as the president at almost any given time.
Perhaps he should take that position back, especially with the latest development. Stalkers in the school was a serious problem. Even so, Lucas wasn't entirely sure about the idea. Going back to that old position when it hadn't even helped him to save Ahndrai, what good was it going to do him?
Could he really do it? Wasit really...time? Time to let go? Tyrathane's face came to mind and Lucas grithis teeth. A blush curved along his cheeks and nose. With a shake of his head,he pulled the door to the classroom opened a bit too roughly. Taking his seat,he glowered out the window all the while trying to get that ridiculously hotboy's image out of his head.
