The last dance

Damon motioned for Alice and Jason to follow him as he walked inside the packhouse, the large buliding could house over two hundred members but the majority had their own houses in the village. Yet the dark wood which the house was bult off was still a home to everyone if they needed it. They walked up the red staircase and in to his office, Damon sat down behind the grey marble desk and watched as Alice and Jason seated themselves into the red velvet couch infront of him.

" Alice, what can you tell us about Delaney? What is she? " He asked. Alice looked at her hands as she took a deep breath.

He understood she was going through a difficult time but they needed to know everything they could about this Queen and her kingdom.

" My Queen is special, she has been ruling the deadly garden for two hundred years now and shes been good at it. " Alice said and chuckled at herself.

Two hundred years? Then that must mean she isnt human, not even werewolfs could live that long.

" well what is she then? " Jason asked his mate.

" Nobody really knows what she is" Alice said,looking out the window.

" I know that this is hard for you but you are now a member of our pack so dont worry" Damon said.

Alices eyes shone with happines and gratitude. She thanked him a million times before leaving with Jason.

Damon took a deep breath and closed his eyes wondering what the hell he would do now.

In the deadly garden

It was dark, the castle was quiet and empty. Everybody had left only the shadow whisps remained.The vines kept growing every hour and they now consumed the entire castle beacuse the queen could not controll herslef.

Seated on her throne since the betrayal of her best friend Delaney did not know what to do she was broken and hurt and angry, her powers had gotten out of control the last couple of days. The guards had followed her and the shapeshiters to the packlands of Damon, it was a large village with lots and lots of other shapeshifters. Something had to be done... Alice was still her subject to the day she dies so she need to come back and beg for forgivness.

Delaney looked up and smiled a terrrifing smiel and met the face of a shadow whisp.

" Ready everything i shall fetch the traitor myself." She was met with a hiss in return.

The afternoon flyed by while everyone did their chores for the village, Damon had discovered that when everybody was assigned for sonething perticular both the village and the pack thrived a lot. Plus there was a lot less fighting between werewolfs because of this.

Everythign was calm until the ground started shaking, Damon heard a loud gasp when he turned towards the sound he found that Alice had dropped to one knee and bowed deeply while crying and shaking. That could only mean one thing....the Queen had arrived. He was unfortunaly for Alice right.

Giant vines shot up from the earth and formed a large orb that exploded. And there she was, smiling as his pack ran around screaming some even shifted ready to defend their home with their lifes if that is the case.

Damon took a step towards his mate, feeling the strong bond between them. Delaneys eyes locked with his and anger engulfed them entirely.

" Where is my servant" Was the only thing she said.

" Shes not yours anymore!" Jason yelled from where he tried to comfort Alice.

" Oh but thats were you are wrong, as long as im breathing she belongs to my court, she is not relived off her duties" she said.

Delaney tried to avoid looking at the man who called himself her mate but found it hard to ignore him, what is this sorcery she thought.

" Your highness please íve found my soulmate and im happy here why cant you grant me this happiness" Alice asked , still bowing. The respect she showed her even after all that has happened. Delaney closed her eyes and took a deep breath. And when she opened them Alice shook with fear.

Her eyes shone that emerald green color that engulfed them completely. That means shes taken over.

" Why should i? You disobeyed me for a man?! How could i trust even a word that you say? You abondon your family for a pack of shapeshifters" Delaney said with a dark voice.

" Yes i did it because i want to be happy and you should to! The council wants you to take a husband because they dont see you fit to rule alone anymore! Thats what i tried to tell you" Alice said.

The vines slithered back into the ground and Delaneys eyes returned to their normal color.

" What? What do you mean not fit for it ? " She asked.

" They want a king, they want a male to rule so they can have heirs soon and youve failed to do so" Alice said.

Delaney was qiuet and Damon looked on really confused.

"Sooo we have to get married ? " He asked them.

"NO we dont have to " Delaney said fast, almost to fast.

Alice chuckled at her or more ot them both.

" Maybe we can talk in private? You are kind of freaking everyone out" Damons said and motioned to the others around them, Delaney looked around and saw that the other pack members looked a little uneasy. So she nodded and picked up her skirts and walked after Damon.

When they entered his office she felt calm for some reason, maybe Damon gave everyone that feeling. Just the thoguht made her angry not wanting anyone to get the same feeling from him.

" Hey easy, nobody is gonna hurt you here" Damon said from the chair he sat in. He motioned for her to sit down in the red velvet couch at first she hesitated but she needed him to trust her if she wanted Alice to come back with her.

" Well?" She said " what do you want from me" She asked.

" Do you feel it? The mate bond between us? " Damon said.

Delaney didnt want to admit she felt the strange pull from the mate bond. But she got the feeling she didnt want to lie to him for some reason.

" yes " Was the only thing she answered to his question.

" Then why do you hate me so much ?" He asked.

" I do not hate you really i just want my best friend back since your friend took her away" She said crossing her arms.

The sun hit Damons tanned face through the large window behind him, he was good looking she had to give him that but still she didnt trust him fully yet.

" I understand that but you cant separate two mates, the consequenses wont be good" Damon said.

"Why? What will happen to them? " She asked.

" Well they would die , thats the cost of finding your mate" Damon said.

Delaney got a horrible feling, she had tried to take Alice back to her kingdom but in doing so she would have killed her then. Great....juat great, she shouldve have better security on her borders and none of this would have happened.

" Then there is nothing more for me to do here, thank you for your time and stay the hell away from my borders" She said as she stood up to leave.

" Wait!" Damon said fast.
