Chapter 3- Deal then

3029 Words
I was looking for the girls as usual when I was being pulled into the janitor's closet. It happened so fast one minute I was on my phone trying to call Vanessa and the next I was inside the most cramped space in the world. Before I could shout, for help my mouth was already muffled by the intruder's hand. "You again?" I asked immediately I saw it was Tyler. He grinned. "The one and only." He smugly replied. "I would give it to you, you do have some guts first you go all commando on my boyfriend and now this? I heard that you just might get expelled on your next visit to the principal's office now let me go before I turn that into a reality..." "You wouldn't dare." He calmly replied. The janitor's closet was filled with brushes, detergents, mop and buckets and the only space remaining demands Us to at least be at a breathing range..I could practically perceive the minty breath of his mouth...we were not kissing because he was taller than me!! "I.." Whatever i wanted to say next was forgotten when I noticed those eyes of his...up close they were even more gorgeous if that was even possible. But i was interrupted from my drooling when a spider crawled out of the bucket. "Please let me go." I pleaded almost jumping on him. I watched as his eyes softened. "Look I too don't want to be here but this is the only place in the school that am sure doesn't have CCTV cameras and we don't want to run the risk of being over heard by some students." He said. I looked at him confused. "What do you need to say to me That is making you go secretive?" I asked. "Let's make a deal." he simply said with that smug smile I found insanely annoying. "Say whatever you have to say and get me out of this hell hole." I said starring skeptically at the cramped space expecting another hairy unattractive reptile to come out any moment from now. He smugly put his hand in his pocket leaning against the door looking every bit the stereotyped fantasy induced bad boy that he was, the obsession of almost every average teenage girl. He looked at me with that poker face of his. "Its a game of charms...we become friends and we try to win each other over in two months which is a week to prom if you win and make me fall helplessly in love with you then I would back out from the prom couple title competition." I chuckled. "Inasmuch as I am shocked to find out that you have a good sense of humour but this would have been more appreciated if it wasn't in a f*****g janitor closet" I said my voice going a bit high at the last part. I hated shouting at anybody, but there was something about him that just pushed all my buttons and left me mad, that tries my self control and destroy my restraints. I looked at his expression, he didn't even flinch, he didn't look bothered by my outburst like he expected it, he didn't even act shocked and definitely did not act like he was joking...wait.... "You aren't joking?" I asked my eyes wide as saucers. He rolled his eyes. "Am not joking around Lilah... Am tired of the cat and mouse chase... Am a real business man and an heir to one of the biggest hotels in the state. I believe in deals and since well you are also an heiress I want to believe you do also so what better way to win this if not by having a deal." he stated. I was dumbfounded just gazing at him mirroring his expression waiting for the first hint of a smirk to Creep in but oh boy... He was dead serious. "And what if you win not like that is possible but...." "Simple then you withdraw from the contest." he simply replied straightening himself to his full gait of 6ft and something, making him tower over my smaller frame,I should be intimidated by him, by his brooding authoritative presence, his intoxicating over powering manly musky scent but instead I felt challenge and even anger.. I looked up at him still starring warily at him.. I wasn't stupid.. An Alexander just doesn't make a deal with anyone without there being a catch... And the possibility of them winning. "Something just doesn't sit out right with me we can barely stay in a room together without wanting to get at each others throat so what makes you think that any of us would fall for each other coupled with the fact that am actually mad about someone else, we have been together for lemme say forever..." He placed a hand on my lip, that gesture alone jolting and electrifying me.... That was the most physical contact we have had in years. I glared at him and then removed his hand from my mouth flinging it roughly to his side. He chuckled. "Let two months be the judge of that." he whispered. I sighed. " I still think this is useless and just dumb..." "Leslie," he whispered and just like that I forgot all my well thought protests, I looked up at him seeing that mischievous glint of his dancing on his green orbs. "This is perfect." he whispered looking at me. "Except... The Alexander princess is too scared of losing to me." he added coldly. I took a step closer to him ignoring the s****l tension and how hot the room was suddenly... Stupid teenage hormones... He reeked of so much s****l appeal but my female parts should be able to know when to quit especially when it was an annoying cocky sexy as hell player and West field No 1 player and do I also mention family Arch enemy.... Yes my dad and his well also share the same hostile feeling we had for each other or should I say the Alexander hotels and the Louis were competing rivals. I looked up at him our gaze meeting, I didn't dare look away. "I can never lose to you Tyler not in a million years." I whispered. He c****d his eyebrow. "So?" He asked... I knew he was trapping me into his twisted strange little game but I was my father's daughter and my pride was my weakness. "Deal then." I said. He smirked evilly finally confirming to me that he was up to no good and I just fell into his trap with both eyes open. "Get ready to fall head over heels." he whispered in that masculine velvety voice that always manages to do strange things to me. He turned to leave. "But how sure are you that any of us would admit to falling in love with the other and losing the deal." I whispered. He stopped on his tracks completely. And after few ridiculously long seconds, he slowly turned towards me.... "Trust me when I say the deal would be the last thing on my mind when that happens.. But.." He drawled out sexily. "... That can only happen if I have a heart ... But I don't." he added and with that and his signature smug expression on his ridiculously handsome face he walked out leaving me confused, surprised and wondering what the heck I have gotten myself into. ************************************** I looked around making sure no one noticed as I curiously opened the note Tyler has discreetly passed to me when he, Eric and Melvin had sauntered down the hallway. "Dress casually and come to the park by 7am don't be late." I sighed, so arrogant. The note sounded exactly like its writer, he didn't even ask if I had other plans or if I even wanted to go out with him he just assumed it was fine to drop an impromptu one line order. I looked up from the offensive note,he was across the hallway with his friends, he seemed to be typing on his phone but I knew he was discreetly watching me. I folded the paper tearing it into shreds and then threw it into the thrash can close to me. My phone immediately lit up. I had a new message from an unknown number. "Why is she getting all worked up now?" I looked up shocked. The person who sent me this message was certainly looking at me right now cause well I had vented my anger on the piece of note vehemently. " Who is this?" I quickly typed back. "Tyler." I frowned, I didn't remember giving him my number. "How did you get my number?" I typed back though relieved, at least it was just an annoying familiar green eyes blonde boy I hate and not a serial killer..what! Am a sucker for horror movies. "I have my ways... Its no mystery." I rolled my eyes at his message and saved his number with blonde nightmare,I chuckled at myself already loving the nickname. "Well I certainly don't appreciate unknown numbers. The least you would have done was to ask?" I typed back peeking at him curious to see his reaction. He had his poker face like he saw that coming. "I do what I want Lilah" Blonde Nightmare. Imagine the guts I thought. "I hate you...you know?" I sent back already tired of the back and forth make believe civil chatter...this was a bad idea. "Remember friends Now" B.N I chuckled humorless, how could I forget the stupid deal I got myself into, if not that I was over whelmed with pride I wouldn't have played into his trap. "For two months" I reminded him. "Whatever ? so tell me why were you bent on treating my innocent note like it took your boyfriend in Its past life" B.N I sighed... So dramatic. "Wish I could do that to you.. So unfortunate that the poor note has to take the blame." I typed back. "Am trying to be civil here but you wouldn't just give up on being so difficult. Typical spoilt Alexander brat" B.N I frowned, how could he call me a spoilt brat? While he was damage itself. "You really need to learn how to talk to a Lady?" He replied almost immediately. "I don't need to learn how to talk when I have the looks..." B.N I rolled my eyes... Cocky i***t. "I mean ladies not sluts." I furiously typed back. "Thanks but no thanks am good with my sluts I don't want any clingy woman whining at me to commit." B.N "A Lady dont chase after a man besides you can't want a Lady because you can't have one?‍♀️." I replied smirking to myself. This could do a lot to his male pride and arrogance. "Whatever. So what are you saying about our outing tomorrow?" B.N I frowned, now he wants to go out with a cocky spoilt heiress. "I am not going anywhere with you until you learn how to ask a lady out properly." I waited for a while there was no response. I glanced at him he was discussing with his friends, I took the book that brought me to my locker out and locked it,I was about leaving when my phone beeped. "Am Trying Lilah?‍♂️.. I know it may not seem like it but am taking baby steps... Am new to this you know... So would you please go out with me." B.N I bit my lower lip apologetically when I saw the message. Maybe I was being too hard on him though that didn't excuse him for being so rude but I wasn't an Angel just now also. "I would think about it." I simply typed back. "I still think coming out with you was a bad idea." I complained. We were at the park and I was beginning to rethink my decision of accepting Tyler's going out offer. I was wearing a Jean pant and tee shirt and I had braided my hair into a pony tail while Tyler was looking delicious in his black short and a green shirt which complimented his eyes. I couldn't help but admit that he really looked good. I felt like shouting hey ladies he is not my man at all the women glaring at me...I even saw a newly older married woman checking him out....what? I knew she was newly married her wedding band was glowing! Tyler seemed unaffected by the attention he was getting from the female population and even some men who swinged the other way... Either he didn't know it or was used to it. He sighed frowning at me making me wonder why someone so good looking had to be a jerk. "Why do you always have to make everything about you all the time. I don't want to be here with you as much as you too." He stated. "Then what are we doing here?" I asked confused. "Well...you can't certainly fall in love in love with me if we don't spend time together getting to know each other except you do catch feelings inside your house." He retorted. I tried fighting the urge to say something mean to him but I couldn't... It was more like a habit. "Well...I already know all there is to know about you...you are a spoilt cocky player." I replied. "For some strange reason I think you are doing this to get a reaction from me." He replied. I shrugged nonchalantly. "We have known each other since middle school...I know all there it is to know about you." I confidently replied. "No...we have hated each other since middle school." He replied. "I can double task....I hated and also knew you." I argued. "Okay let's do a little test on that theory I would ask you just three questions about me if you get two right then I would accept I was wrong and you do know things about me,fine by you?" He asked. "Shoot." I replied. "What's my favorite colour?" He asked. I grinned. "Even a baby would certainly get the answer right... Its black." I replied flashing him a triumphant smirk. "Wrong." He coolly replied. "How? Everything in your closet is black... Almost everything.." I corrected. "...but you wear black almost everyday... Even your heart is black for crying out loud." I dramatically added. "But that's not my favorite colour." He replied. "Why do I have a feeling that you are failing me on purpose just to prove your point." I asked. "Why do I have a feeling you find it really hard to accept defeat?" He asked. "So what then is your favorite colour?" I curiously asked. "Blue." "Why blue? Isn't that against all the bad boy code in the country?" I asked confused. "There is nothing like a bad boy code." He said amused. "I know that." I replied rolling my eyes,I wasn't 5. "But why blue?" I asked. He shrugged. "I do what I want." He whispered. "I wouldn't have been able to guess." I mumbled. He gazed at me, our eyes meeting for the briefest of moments then he looked away. "So the next question is..." "I give up." I whispered. He looked at me surprised. "Why?" He asked. "I really don't know you." I admitted. If I couldn't get his fricking damn favourite colour then what are the odds that I would get the others right. I expected him to give me one of his numerous signature smirk but he didn't. "I guess you were right I was so busy hating you that I failed to know anything about you." I whispered. He nodded. "Same goes for me." "But why do our families hate each other so much... They both are in the same line of business and so what? We have about six people in school whose parents run a hotel so what's the big deal?" I asked. "Its not really about that....my dad don't go about hating any random hotel owner... Your dad stole most of my dad's business partners..." "But dad would never steal..." I defended. "Its business princess.." I made a face. "Please don't call me that." I requested. "You hate the nickname?" He asked grinning. "Obviously." I retorted. He grinned even more. "Princess it would be." I frowned. "....things like this happens." He continued. "But that doesn't make it right." I said. "No but it makes it business. Before the emergence of Alexander's hotel the Louis was the best in the state and when the Alexander came up the Louis suffered a huge set back one that almost collapsed the establishment... He stopped coming back from the company, he slept in his office most of the time and when he did come back he was always complaining about everything, his staff, the new ideas your dad was bringing into the hotel world, how he was losing major business events and deals..." "Am sorry." I mumbled feeling like everything was all our faults... All my fault. "No need to be." He snapped. "Its business besides Louis enterprises was becoming overly confident with its old recipes, designs and strategies, Alexander was the push it needed to get the ball rolling.. That's why the two are rivals and would always be rivals as they both contend for the position of best in the nation." He recited emotionlessly Like it was a poem, like it was a story.. Like this wasn't about us. There was an uncomfortable silence between us as I tried to process the new piece of information I have just heard. I held his hand,he jerked startled but didn't withdraw his hand. Shocked and confused at what I was doing I clasped his hand around mine meeting his gaze. "Trust me I didn't mean to be in your space.. What happened seven years ago was not my intention... I.." "But you are here Now." He mumbled. I nodded. "Its okay." He replied forcing a smile
