XIV. Spacer’s Curry Anjali wasn’t sure what she had expected. Shipboard meals tended to be basic affairs, geared more towards nutrition than taste. However, when she sat down next to Mikhail at the long dinner table in the mess that night, the lay-out of the table was far from basic. For in addition to plates and glasses for everybody on board, there was also a selection of small bowls filled with an indefinable something or rather several indefinable somethings. A closer examination revealed that one of the bowls was filled with chutney — industrially mass produced chutney that was sold throughout the Empire and beyond, to be fair, but chutney nonetheless.
