Chapter 18: Go Back!

Robbin's POV:
After the incident Jack took me to my grandmother's house to tell her about this and see if she would let me stay with her. Although i had a feeling she wouldn't understand. She is really protective about the subject. I mean if her mate were treating her like mine was she would also probably be leaving him. Right? I just hope she understands.
"Robbin, do you think your grandmother would understand?" Asked Jack
"I hope so" I replied. I decided it would be a good idea to get to know Jack. He's a nice guy but i barely know him.
"Hey Jack, how old are you?" I started with a simple question.
"I'm 18" He said
"So have you found you're mate yet?" I asked
"She's dead." He sounded like he didn't care about it. That's so weird.
"I'm sorry about that" He must be very sad about it.
"Don't be, she was very greedy and only wanted me for my position but i rejected her once i noticed she didn't really love me. The next day we were attacked and she was killed. I'm just glad i rejected her so i didn't feel the pain" Well at least he felt no pain.
"Will you get another mate?" Maybe he could have a happy ending with someone else.
"Second chances only exist for Alphas because they need to have heirs to lead the pack. Betas on the other hand can be replaced with someone else. I would need to fall in love with another wolf who has lost a mate or a human who has no mate at all." That is very surprising to hear.
"Do you have anyone in mind?" Maybe he has someone already. That girl would be so lucky!
"I do" He said while looking at me. I'm happy that he found someone for him.
"We're here Robbin" I didn't even notice we had arrived. I got very nervous all of us sudden. Then i felt a hand on top of mine.
"Everything will be alright, don't worry" Jack said. I got off, i thought he would follow me in but he told me he had to make a call first. He would go in when he was done.
I knocked and my grandma answered. She looked good even though she is living alone but I'm not surprised since she has been living alone for years now.
"Hi grandma!" I said
"Hi dear, what are you doing here?" She asked while inviting me in. I sat down.
"I was wondering if i could come back and stay here again for a while." I said. Please say yes, please say yes.
"No! You have a mate that needs you. You must go back to him." She said very mad.
"You don't understand! He is rushing things. I can't accept him yet if doesn't give me some space." I replied with sadness.
"He is still your mate. Besides you will get use to it." I couldn't believe she just said that to me!
"I am not going back to him! Mate or not he needs to learn that people need space." I said just when Jack walked in.
"And who is the young fellow? Is he the reason why you are leaving your mate?!" She asked really mad.
"How could you think that! Jack has helped only. He understands me. It doesn't matter anymore, if you won't help me that's fine, i will just leave and find somewhere else to stay." I said while standing up and leaving her surprised.
I got in the car. I didn't know where to go anymore. I'm new in town and i have no friends yet. Maybe i could stay in a hotel for a while. But i would have to find a job part time becuase of school.
"Robbin" Jack called out to me. I didn't even notice when he got inside the car.
"Yes" I said while trying not to cry. Crying showed weakness. That's why i don't do it in front of people.
"I have a place you could stay in. I don't use it since i became beta and live with the pack." I could accept but i don't know.
