Chapter one
I loved the sensation of being watched, the thrill that came with the situation excited me. Knowing he was out there watching me right now, watching my every move. I fanaticized about the face he was making while watching me.
Our eyes had met a few times and he always had this mischievous glint in his eyes that told me he enjoyed this as much as I did, stalking me and following my every move.
Of course at first I thought I was being dramatic and our encounters were all coincidences but one can only play stupid for so long, I knew what he was doing and so did he.
I wondered why he chose me. I remember reading an article that said psychopaths always find some sort of endearment they obsess over with their victims, I wondered what mine was? A striking resemblance to an ex, maybe a kind gesture I had forgotten about, a love at first sight encounter.
I wanted to ask him but I wasn’t sure he would like that, obviously he was enjoying the chase, stalking me thinking I didn’t notice, knowing things about me without needing to ask
Ah, I could feel it again, the pulsing ache in between my legs any time I thought of him. As insane as it sounded, it was my reality; I was the crazy girl who got wet thinking of her stalker
“Millie, Millie, Millie” I hear Miss Ruth calling for me with a stern look on her face. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea to be daydreaming about my stalker in Miss Ruth’s class
“What did I say, Are you even listening to me?” she asks and I cower my head looking to my friends for help but they just shake their heads letting me know they were not listening as well
“Sorry Miss Ruth” I answer in defeat
“Detention after class”
“What, But it’s my birthday”
“Maybe think of that next time you decide to not pay attention in my class” she says walking away murmuring about what a lost cause I am.
I bow my head on my desk, a little annoyed with the situation. I cannot believe I was going to be spending my birthday in a classroom in detention with Miss Ruth, it was sad enough I had to come to school on my birthday.
After class, my friends and I settle in on our lunch table at school, Not to brag but we were kind of the popular crew at school, there was;
Jacob- he was the school quarterback and a total smoke show. He was kind of a jerk but we all knew that was to hide the fact that he was actually a big softie on the inside
Ariana- Our resident queen bee, she was a hot blonde with killer boobs, so I am sure you get the rest of the gist.
Jeremiah- He was what I like to call a hot nerd; we used to date so he joined the crew because of me. We broke up a few months ago and decided to just be friends
And finally there was Leah- my best friend since middle school. She was the one person I was actually jealous of, she was the only daughter of the Von Schmitz so she was basically royalty. I am not kidding her dad’s younger brother is actually the king of Norgan- the capital city in easthers, so she literally had royal blood running through her veins
Moving to Allister after losing the throne, her father became a business man importing and exporting goods from easthers and easily gaining the the title ‘richest man in Allister’. What’s even more impressive is he managed to do this and gain more revenue for his hometown Norgan in three years drastically improving their economy and bettering the lives of his citizens. Literally everyone knew of the Von Schmitz, they were a household name now.
Their whole family was a prodigy; they were blessed with good looks and brains to back it up. Leah was literally going to be the valedictorian of our year and she looked like the goddess Athena with her otherworldly beauty.
Her dad also looked like a runway model- Alex Von Schmitz, Ariana always joked about him being a DILF and how she would let him have it anytime he wanted. Leah hated any conversation regarding her dad though so I always had to call them off and act as the glue that held our whole friend group together
My name is Millie Brown and I don’t exactly have a great credential like the others, I was basically average at best. I grew up in Allister with my mum and we were comfortable, not rich but not poor either. I never knew my dad so I couldn’t tell you about him if you asked. Everything else about me was average, my grades were average, my looks were average and the only reason I was in this friend group was because I was best friends with Leah. She was the one they wanted in their group and I was just the added bonus.
It’s always been this way so I wasn’t offended by it. Sure I built an inferiority complex to her but still I wasn’t offended. The truth is being her friend opened doors for me.
Like now I was seated on the popular lunch table that was reserved only for the most popular crew in school, I may hate being used by people just to get close to Leah but looking out over this cafeteria and the jealous look of girls who had way better credentials than me, watching me live their dream made the whole thing worth it.
