"Ahh" Jeet screamed when he was about to trip on the stairs.
The sound of someone crying is faded. But Jeet walked further. He saw Veer with a kid. That kid must be their junior. The junior has teary eyes.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Jeet shouted.
Veer looked at him and sigh.
"You can't bully him. Because of you, he is crying."
"So, what you'll do? Go complain. That's you do the best right. Just buzz off." Veer said in a bit disgusted tone. And his voice indicates that he was sleepy at that time.
Veer walked away.
"Are you okay? Don't worry, he can't bully you if you complain against him." Jeet said.
"Complain? No..never." The junior was full of fear. He ran away.
Jeet felt bad for that boy.
Jeet went back to his room.
He fell asleep as soon as he gets in the bed.
"Ring ring" Jeet's phone rings.
He gets up. Picked the call.
"Good morning, my lovely brother." A voice from the other side says.
"Pihu! How are you, my princess." Jeet says in a sleepy voice.
Jeet wakes up and walks towards the switched board. He was a bit dizzy, so he barely looked around.
"Bro, you know I am working hard to get a scholarship and get there. I can't bear to stay away from you. I will do my best next year to get the scholarship."
"It's good. But don't you think it's better, that you are with mom and dad."
"No one plays with me. You were the one who played with me. Now I feel lonely."
"I feel it too...... aah"
"What happened, brother?"
"Nothing, just a mouse." Jeet's voice was trembling.
"Hehehe, you are still scared of the mouse. Grow up, bro." Pihu says in a cheerful voice.
"I need to get ready for the class. Talk to you later, okay."
He hangs up the call hurriedly.
Jeet was breathing heavily because he was looking at something terrible.
In his room's dull white wall. There was written 'Get out of this room' with red color. But it seems to be the blood.
He got frightened.
He swallowed his saliva. Tried not to freak out. But couldn't help it. He ran to the warden.
"Sir....sir, please come with me." Jeet requested the warden, who was busy in a work to come with him.
The students gathered followed them too in curiosity.
"What happened....Mr...Arora..." Jeet dragged the warden to his room.
"Sir... sir look. Looks what's written here. Someone is trying to frightening me." Jeet says while being out of breath.
Jeet was pointing towards the wall and looking at the warden's pale face.
"What are you saying, Mr. Arora? There is nothing." Warden says.
"Hun?" Jeet was panting.
"Look, there is nothing."
Jeet turned and looked. The wall was clean. Not a single stain of red color was on that.
"But...bu..but.. it was there. Trust me, sir..sir."
"It might be a nightmare. That's why I am suggesting you share your room. With a roommate around, you will feel secure. You will have someone to take care of you and talk to you. You can still go to your previously allotted room." The warden suggested to Jeet.
"I won't. Sorry, sir." Jeet replied.
"If you are not willing to listen to me. Please don't bother me too. I was in the middle of work." Warden said in a bit frustrated tone and walked away.
The students gathered started mumbling. They too left Jeet alone in the room.
In the washroom, when Jeet entered, everyone stared at him. They were afraid of him. The one talked to earlier approached him.
"Hi! Are you okay?" That boy says.
"Hm."
"Can I ask you something?"
"You just did." Jeet said in a rude way.
"Oh"
The boy becomes sad and was about to leave.
"Go on"
"My question was, why are you so desperate to stay in that haunted room?"
"I am not desperate."
"It looks like you are. Why don't you change the room?"
"I don't want to share the room with that bully."
"Who? Sam?" Another boy asked.
"No. Veer."
"He was your previous roommate? Oh, now I get it. He is someone no one would like to be with." Says that boy.
"Shush..."
Veer was nearby and heard their conversation.
They became silent after sensing the presence of Veer.
Veer walked speedily and intentionally bump into Jeet on the way. Pretending it was a mistake.
"See how rude he is." One says.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I am" Jeet replied politely.
In the canteen, Jeet and those two boys meet and share the table.
"Do you think he would have heard us?" Said that boy in fear.
"Don't worry, Sandeep, he wouldn't have heard it." Another boy said.
"Sandeep, nice name." Jeet says to change the topic.
"Friends call me Sandy. You can also."
"That means you consider me as your friend?"
"Sure."
"I am Anil."
"Nice to meet you."
They all had breakfast. They were chuckling but stopped at once.
"Veer is staring at us. He looks creepy." Sandy said.
Jeet was turning to look. But Sandy stopped him.
"Don't look...He is still staring."
After breakfast, Jeet asks his new friends if they like some drinks.
"I like lichi."
"For me, guava."
"Sure," Jeet said and headed towards the vending machine.
He quietly passed Veer, who was sitting near the machine.
Jeet put the money in and waited for the drink to drop. It got stuck midway.
"Oh, what happened?" Jeet mumbles.
Jeet was peeking inside the machine to see where the drinks stopped.
"Hurry" A voice behind him was so furious.
"It got stuck." Jeet replied without turning and looking at the person behind.
The person behind was Veer. He sighs heavily.
"I can't wait."
Veer pushed Jeet against the machine.
"Bam!"
"What are you doing?" Jeet shouted at Veer.
"I was just helping you. See!" Veer said casually.
The drinks dropped.
"Would you mind? I am in a hurry." Veer said by glaring at him.
Jeet grabbed his drinks and walked away angrily. Jeet knew he can not fight with Veer.
"What's wrong with him." Echoed in the canteen.
Jeet was walking but his glance was at Veer who was glaring at him.
