"Tell me Kathleen, what disgusts you the most about me? the fact I'm a middle aged man or the fact I own you?" Richard asked her twirling her short curls on his finger as he stared into her brown eyes.

Kathleen tried moving backwards but Richard's other hand was wrapped around her tightly, she never knew she was this small.

"You don't own me." she managed to speak out. But her heart is betraying her as she knows she loves it when he says he owns her.

"Kathleen, you'll have to learn that when Richard Wyatt owns something and he decides not to let it go, he won't." He said moving his mouth closer to hers.

She involuntarily licked her lip which earned her a low chuckle.

"Kathleen till whenever you want me, I'll be waiting for you. And you will want me." he said unhanding her as he walked away.

Is This A Joke?
I looked at the two older men in front of me and said my next words angrily. "I am not going anywhere with anyone." What were they thinking I'd do with the information they just hit me with, jump for joy?, leap into the air and do a triple summersault? "Kathleen, it's been decided you can't do anything about it." My father's voiced warned me. I gave him an incredolous look. The man seated next to my father had not said one word since I walked into the living room. Everyone knew this man in Hue City. Everyone knew Richard Wyatt. The Don of Hue City. He ran everything around. He is the big player in our city. What I didn't understand was how I was supposedly bethrothed to this man. A thug, mafia boss and someone definitely more than twice my age. I made sure I didn't hide the disgust on my face whenever I looked at him. My father wasn't telling me something. Everything right now felt off. "Kathleen pack your bags, grab your stuff and get ready to leave with Mr Wyatt." My father announced again. "I'm not deaf." I fired back at him. He is my father but he could be a big pain in the ass. "I'm pretty sure you're not. Stop acting like a child and do as I say." My father said getting visibly irritated by my complaints. But I wasn't done, not yet. "Your definition of me acting like a child is me asking you what the hell is going on? —my voice was starting to get loud. I was pissed already— your definition of me acting like a child is me wanting to know why a man your age, is here saying I'm his fiancee?" "Point of correction, your father is twelve years older than me." Another voice said. I averted my gaze to Mr Wyatt. So he could speak and why does his voice sound so familiar and soothing?. "So you can speak?" I only got a shrug as response from Mr Wyatt. The men in this house were getting on every last of my nerve. "You lost a bet right and I was payment?" I asked my father trying to piece two and two together. "You raised a smart woman Kit, I like it." Mr Wyatt said once more. "Do you get paid to chirp in unnecessarily in discussions that don't involve you?" I fired at him. For a moment he looked shocked then his face reverted back to the way I saw it when I came into the living room, stoic. "Kathleen, I won't say it again. Pack your bags and get out of my house. You should be glad I gave you education rather than marry you off to some man earlier." A snort came from Mr Wyatt's direction. I looked at my father aghasted. The truth had always been there. My father never loved me, he only tolerated me. He always wanted a son. A son who'd rival the other bosses in this city. He had great plans for a son, for him to conquer Hue City and the neighbouring cities. "Everyday you keep showing me that I was right for nominating you as the shittiest father of the year awards. Well, guess what, it's just January and you've won the award this year. Again." I vehemently spat at my father. He just shook his head and left the living room. Leaving me alone with Wyatt. I had an urge to ask him questions, but the truth was slowly dawning on me. My father had gotten me married without my prior consent. And to who? A man who's known as ruthless, merciless and the devil. I let out a laugh. Mr Wyatt c****d his brow at me questiongly. "You must be a sick man if you think I'd marry the devil's incarnate that you are." When I said those words he only shook his head and returned his attention to his mobile phone. He acted like I was insignificant, like he didn't want me. "What about we make a deal, I offer you something in exchange for me." I said trying to get his attention. It did get his attention as he put his phone in his inner coat pocket. Then his long fingers, smoothed off some crease on his suit pants. He sized me up with his eyes, drinking my every form before he spoke. "Kathleen, you have absolutely nothing to offer me." I stared pointedly at him. There had to be something. My eyes lit up as an idea came to my mind. "Kathleen, it'll also be cheap of you to offer me your body for a limited time in exchange for your life." He said again this time with his head back and his eyes closed. How had he known what I was about to say? "Isn't it just my body? I'll offer it willingly to you, if you promise to let me go. Isn't that just it with you mafia men, make deals and all those other bullshit?" I was running out of ideas. "Kathleen, if you haven't noticed, when I owned you, I owned a right to your body. I'd have it either ways." He said looking at me now with a smug smile. Disgusting man. "Have you seen yourself? You're fourty-four years old. You're twenty-one years older than me and you expect me to one day sleep with you, I'd never consent to a relationship between us." "Which annoys you the most? My age or the fact that you're my woman now?" I could see the predative look he had on his face. "It doesn't matter. You'll be the one begging me to take you soon enough." The smug smile was back on his face. I turned my face away from his. I heard footsteps coming from the stairs, I turn to find my dad pulling my suitcase behind him. So he was serious? The old cat was serious. "Richard, you've gotten what you wanted, you can now take her and get out of my house." My father spat out. I walked towards him and pulled my suitcase from him and walked out the door. They must've thought I had gone far but I was within earshot when I heard Mr Wyatt speak. "Kit, don't act as if you feel sad. I let you have four years with her. It's my turn to have what I paid for. And please it's Mr Wyatt to you, not Richard." His voice towards my father sounded menacing. I stood outside my father's old bungalow where I had created most memories from my childhood. This place was my safe space and I was leaving it. Mr Wyatt came out and walked to the door of his car. Holding the door open so I could get in. Then he entered the driver's seat. Apparently he was driving and his boys were trailing behind, guarding us. "So, Kathleen, you didn't try to run?" He said as his eyes were focused on the road. I saw his face from the front mirror and his lips were curled in a michievious manner. "Cause, Mr Wyatt, I'm not stupid. Hue City is yours. If I was outside Hue City, hiding would've been easy for me." I answered him as I rested my head on the window pane tapping a tune on the window too. "You're an intelligent woman Kathleen." Yes I am and I'll find a plan to leave your house. "And just know one thing, no matter wherever you hid, as long as you were on planet Earth, I'll find you." I scoffed as he continued the ride to his house.
