Chapter 9

Debby' POV

The night came. Diana was stirring again. It was the same feeling of restlessness as in Beta' s ceremony. It is Thursday. Alpha Heir will have his wolf tonight. The pack had gathered together to welcome the next in line Alpha Wolf.

My duties tonight was to assist the kitchen staff. This was good, since being in crowd is something I avoid. The kitchen staff consisted of kitchen omegas while at the cooking stations were the slaves who were actually cooking. The omegas simply took our credit. And who would oppose them. Us, slaves? No.

Beware of tonight. Stay away from Alpha.

Which Alpha, the elder or younger?

Younger mostly.

Please don't tell me Samuel is my mate now! I huff in my mind.

The choice is always yours. He has a powerful wolf, worthy to be our mate. But his Human part is a pathetic excuse.

So, why pair them up, in the first place. It's not like Selene is ancient. She is now too. She is the Moon Goddess, omnipresent.

Yeah and it is a good reason to pair them up.

So you will keep telling me all that's irrelevant but not the point?

Ha! Caught me. Things need to happen as they are supposed to happen. You need to be the Queen. Now you agree to be Alpha Queen, at least through rejection.

And do I have to repeat the same words yet again?

Diana howls in my head and retreats from my mind.

If she was apart from me I would have said, I hate that lady for keeping so many secrets. So, another night of pain. I think Sabrina is guessing something. But not a soul other than that Beta Brian knows anything at all. And poor soul his words would jumble every time he tries to utter my title. I wonder what happened to his wolf. It's as if he is not there.

The kitchen was busy, I was washing plates after plates as the evening passed by. I could hear the whole pack rejoicing and celebrating. It was only dinner time now. The crowd had been gathering since the sun set. The service was at full swing. Three more hours to midnight.

Alpha Heir Samuel' POV

At the end of dinner, drinks flowed. Members were rejoicing, dancing and laughing. No one knew Brian was still at the hospital. We mentioned he went away for some urgent pack business. Nothing was frowned upon.

My wolf stirrer again. I sniffed the air and a magnificent scent was in the air. It smelled like the first rain drops in the soil. It was all over the pack. I sat up, my wolf came forward, Human, go to mate. Mate is here.

You are my wolf?!

He just huffed. Move human!

I was immediately on my feet. It was as if my feet were moving on their own accord. My Mate! I had my mate my luna within the pack. I had many girlfriends during college. I even spent the nights with some of the girls in the pack. A few nights ago I had three girls pleasing me. I always thought I would have an Alpha she-wolf from another pack as my Luna. Is this she-wolf a Gamma? I don't want Gamma as my mate. The Beta family had no females. Who is she. I don't want to accept her, I thought.

Shut Up!

What? I was confused.

I am in your head Human. So, shut up. I want my mate. That's it. I came back for my mate only. I have no interest in your thoughts.

You came back? What do you mean?

My wolf ignored me. I walked from the pack grounds to the packhouse towards the pack kitchen mess. My nose twitched as if it was my wolf' s snout finding the direction of my mate's scent strongest. It led us to the backdoor of the kitchen. Every instinct in me wanted to run away. I don't want a mate lurking or working near the kitchen. I want to run. My feet have a mind of their own.

Then I spotted her. I hate her. She is washing dishes. I don't even know who she is. I don't sense a wolf in her either. What the hell. I thought my wolf would be strong enough to rule the world. What the heck! I get paired up with a low life good for nothing wolfless human. I want to spit at her. I want to grab her and drag her to the fire pit. End her life.

My wolf took over and walks to her. My wolf shuts me out for any livid thoughts in my mind.

Debby' POV

I look at him stunned. It seems like Samuel is possessed. I recognise those eyes. Is that.. Is that..

Bradley, yes! Diana responds.

He left Beta Brian? How is that possible? Brian is still alive.

Bradley replies reading my thoughts, "Yes, baby girl. I am very strong to leave a human to come back to you." His voice is like a growl, deep, enticing. I love his voice. He is truly worthy as my mate. A strong wolf perfect for Diana.

He smiles reading my thoughts again. "I want to kiss you already Debby. I want to do things to you that you never thought of. But our time is not yet here. Don't think too much. I am and always will be only for you. So, let's get this party started."

I whisper, "Bradley... I am sorry. I wish things were different. I am so sorry. It pained me last night too. I thought you were gone. "

Bradley replies, "No baby girl, never be sorry. The pain you see was for Brian. I had to teach him a lesson for rejecting you so out rightly. So stupid. And don't put too much thought to it. We will meet and be one real soon. You will see. In this Life and every other life I am just yours. I am going to give the control back to the human now. Let's see what he decides to do with so much information." I nod.

Alpha Heir Samuel' POV

What are they talking about. She knows my wolf' s name. Even I didn't know his name. Bradley is crazy to think I will accept her as my mate. She is wolfless and I am guessing a slave. She will not even survive with wolfsbane. Stupid wolf is she. I get the control back.

I spit at her. She just blinks shaking her head. I let my Alpha aura out to subdue her. She doesn't succumb and I remember the mate bond is still present. So much for the mate bonds. I hold her by her hair, take her to the corner. It's not a full moon night yet, two days to go, I see blood. "You are the wolf that had rejected my Beta. You are responsible for his state. You are going to accept my rejection, I Alpha command you as your mate!"

She replies smirking while I still hold her head by hair in my fist. My blood boils and I want to rip away her throat, and the heart that beats, the smile that she casts upon me.

"You think I will accept your rejection because you Alpha commanded me as your mate? Do you think it works? We are equals and you are stupid. Well, good news for you.." She twists my wrist holding her hand and I hear it crack. My eyes widen. She continues, "Your lineage only partially plays a role in the title you behold fool. It is your wolf Bradley who will give you the status of Alpha. Without your wolf you are a human being. Your humility makes you a king. I can see you have nothing. Not even worthy to be called a human with humility or integrity. You laced wolfsbane in the toiletries. They are not working like they should. But, they are working. You will find out just how in two days time. You want to be the Prince, a good for nothing being like you should have been glad to get a strong wolf like Bradley. Bradley left Brian, do you understand? Brian is sleeping in the pack hospital wolfless, not a dormant wolf. And he will live for another 188 years empty. That was the result to reject me. You want me to accept your rejection. You want me to say no to Bradley? Bradley himself came as your wolf to be rejected. Don't you understand what is happening here? Or are you a fool?"
