The Journey Called Life

Episode 2

Paul worked for a year and his mother began to worry for him because he has not introduce any female to her as his wife or fiancee so she decided to pay him a visit to have a one on one conversation concerning the matter.

When Paul saw his mother, he was surprise and happy to see her after a long period of time, his mother sent for him to discuss about his personal life that why she is here and she asked him when will he get married and give her grandchildren? Paul was unstable about the question and he replied his mother  "I know someday I am going to get married but that is not what I am thinking right now and besides, it is not easy to get a woman that will love for him for who he is so i will get married when it is time for me to do so" and his mother said "alright but do it on time because you are not getting any younger". After one week of visitation by Paul's mother, she went back and he continue his life by seeking for opportunities.

There comes a night, Paul was awake and he thought about what his mum told him the last time she visited him and he began to see reasons with she told him but the question he asked himself was "where and how will he get a woman that will love, care and understand him"? So he concluded that women just want to marry a man because of his money and not how the man feels. He decided to talk with one of his colleague at the office to see how he can about it.

The following day he went to the office, did his job and left the office during lunch time he called one of his colleague to discuss what has been bothering him concerning having a wife and his colleague asked him to come over to the club house tonight to make his choice that is not all the ladies that goes to the club house are p********e, some of them go there when there are heartbroken to ease up their pain, so he might be lucky to get someone there and Paul was like he has never been to a club house before not to talk of being a smoker or a drunk and his colleague assured him everything will be fine as long as he is with him.

Paul decided to go with him to the club house after work and when they got there he sat down and begin to watch what was going on and his colleague began to point at numerous girls for Paul to choose from but he was still shaking because it is his first time and so his colleague picked someone for him called Rose who was sitting all alone, so they both joined her and began to discuss to know each other better until Paul and Rose begin to interact with each other and they exchange phone number to be keep in touch.

As time goes on, Paul decided to Rose a try and they started dating not knowing it is only for a short while, until when Rose started demanding for so many things that is above Paul's pay grade and she doesn't even a break and this worries Paul but he doesn't want to loose her so he has to do it thinking it is normal.

Paul's life turned upside down since he met Rose and it has been one trouble to another and he became unstable not knowing what to do because he has done everything to please Rose and yet he is not a happy man. Rose only think about herself and not knowing how he feels, whenever they are together she doesn't even treat him well only when she wants something from him, she will be so romantic towards him and after she gets what she wanted, she will be normal as if she has no one in her life.

Paul called Rose to have a discussion about a huge contract deal he received from his company, that they have already paid part of the money into his account and he can't wait to finish the job in order to get married to her but deep within Rose she doesn't want to get married to him but she is just after his money. 

So she was excited about what Paul told her and she wished him good luck not knowing she is planning on how to steal the money from him. Rose planned with some bad men to kidnap him and take the money from him.

The day came when Paul was kidn*pped and taken to an unknown location and asked to empty his account or he is going to die and Paul did as he was told inorder not to die, after the transfer he was dumped somewhere he never know and find his way back home, he was so worried that the company will soon come after him and he invited his colleague to his house to discuss about the situation on ground and that Rose is no where to be found and her phone is switched off, that was when they suspected her and Paul's colleague was very angry with him for telling Rose everything, a woman he only knew for couple of months that he shouldn't have done that. Paul was seriously down because he knew it will not end well with him if the company come after him, his colleague encouraged him not to worry that everything is going to be fine. 

The company called to find out why nothing has started in the site and Paul told them what he went through few days ago but that didn't change anything and he was given one week to refund the money or face the consequences.

Paul dropped down in tears and shouting to the extent that his neighbours came into his apartment and asked what is the matter? but he didn't answer them and continue to cry uncontrollably. 

The following day, his landlord came asking for his rent and Paul does not have any money to give to him and the landlord was angry and promised to deal with him if he didn't get his rent paid by next week.

After one week, the company asked Paul to come over and which he did, the company let him know the decision by the management concerning the money given to him, which is for him to continue working with them until the money is cleared and agreed by signing some documents.

Paul decided not to do anything with women till further notice because if he didn't accept to date Rose, he won't be in this mess right now.

Even his mum didn't know what he went through and what he is into now. He decided to stay away from anyone that will bring problem into his life.

Paul worked so hard to pay back the money he never spend just because of his carelessness with a woman he wanted to get married bto thinking that what they had is real.

Some elders from Paul's village came to visit concerning the issue arising in the village as the person in line to be the native doctor of a deity, terrible things are happening due to his father refusal to serve the deity. Paul was amazed by what the elders said because it is superstition to him.

Paul told the elders to leave his apartment and he is not interested to serve any deity and they should go and find someone else to do do.

The elders tried their best to let him see reason with them but all went into a deaf ears and so they left with a warning if he doesn't respond, terrible things will happen in his household and the entire village.

Paul went on with his normal life and finally saw a lady that attracted him and decided to approach her. He introduced himself and there she told him her name as Nkechi.

Nkechi is a cleaner in a hotel and very beautiful looking young lady who is independent.

Paul and Nkechi dated for two years before they decided to get married and after the wedding, their marriage life began and his wife got pregnant.

Calamities has began to fall in his village because of his refusal to accept the position of a native doctor to a deity. Children and animals are dying, no crops to feed on.

After nine months, Nkechi finally gave birth to twins. There was celebration and merriment after a long while, Paul is now a full grown man as the elders will always say that "when there is a cry of child in a man's house, he is now a man".

Nightmare started crawling into his home, he started seeing what he believe was not real before and he became scared.

One of his child was ill and was taken to the hospital and after the test, the doctor can't explain what exactly is wrong with the child. Paul and his wife were confused not knowing what to do about this situation. 

The elders visited Paul again reminding him about what they discussed the last time and he still refuse to accept the position as a native doctor.
