Nuria

909 Words
On her return to New York from her business trip to Canada, Nuria was disappointed that she had not heard from Thiago in the week and a half that she had spent in that country, so the absence of the boy waiting for her at the airport did not surprise her. During the period of her trip the girl had been meditating on the future of her relationship with the Argentine and no matter how she looked at it, she realized it was hopeless. She knew that the young man loved her but she was not sure that that feeling was comparable to the one she felt. In relation to love, Thiago was fickle by nature and could never decide between a stable and mature relationship and the drives coming from a strange s*x, which in him acted like a drug that he could not get rid of. So deep in those thoughts Nuria realized that her taxi had arrived at the door of her house and she got out carrying her two suitcases. She entered her apartment on the ground floor, took apart the luggage, spreading the clothes on the bed in the bedroom to air them and then separate those that she had to send to the laundry. The girl then slipped into the shower and subsequently got into bed naked. She was awakened by the doorbell in her own apartment and assumed it was Thiago. She put on a robe and slippers and opened the door. The image of the boy was the representation of dejection.   "Are you telling me that you intend to marry that woman who is much older than you?" Nuria's tone betrayed her amazement and her doubts. She went on. “So you, the proud citizen of the Argentine Republic, have finally been seduced by an exponent of the most rancid and decadent European aristocracy. An unexpected evolution. " "It is not a political problem." The young man's tone was less convincing than ever. "But it is true that you have succumbed to the tinsel of a noble escape from a regime that has no longer existed in Russia for more than a century." Seeing that Thiago did not react, the girl made a decision and told him. "What I am going to tell you now, I will regret in the short term, but I will celebrate it for the rest of my life." She was silent and continued. “Thiago Ferrari, although I have loved you, I do not want you anymore in my life. I release you from any ties or obligations that you think you have with me. Our paths separate from this very moment." The man felt a part of his soul collapse inside him. Without looking up he left the apartment and the building; just at that moment the cell phone that was in his jacket pocket rang ; he verified that the one who was calling him was Irina. The lady  immediately noticed the mood of her interlocutor and quickly elicited the reasons. She understood the reasons and told him. "When you are calmer you will realize that actually thanks to the nobility of spirit and mental clarity of your Spanish friend, she has freed you from an obstacle so that we can continue with our plans and that you can continue in search of your destiny. Come to my house immediately, I will console you and even though you are a teetotaler we will get drunk with a bottle of the best Russian vodka. There is no other solution for the evils of the soul. "  "But ... tomorrow I have to go to work." “Thiago, this is more important than a day's work. Come immediately. " Once again Irina reflected on the particular fate of her current boyfriend; he was always surrounded by women who loved him and solved his their problems by entering and leaving his life at the right time.   The two had eaten what they ordered from a nearby delivery. Then Irina had opened a bottle of Russian vodka and guided the paused intake until she was sure both were completely drunk; then and in a way that left no trace in their memory, they crawled up to the immense box spring and fainted in it, without hints of sexuality or romanticism, that is to say that night they were two lovers who shared only the drunkenness. Very late the next morning the woman awoke once more to the snoring of her bed partner. "We will to have to do something about those snoring." She thought without noticing that they had not bothered her in the nine hours that she had slept. Anyway she shook the young man until she was able to wake him up; his alcoholic breath was overwhelming so that she Irina thought that her own would not lag behind. When Thiago finally woke up the lady told him. "It's ten o'clock. Didn't you have to go to your work? "  “Before coming here yesterday I told my boss that today I would do  home office. I have the right to do it once a week even if I rarely do it." The Russianlady  reflected relieved that despite being a leaf in the wind in matters of love and s*x, the Argentine was careful and orderly in relation to his work and in all economic issues. "A good complement of skills and shortcomings between the two."
