Chapter 25: The Darkness Descends
As the clock struck midnight, the lights in the gym began to flicker. Alex felt a chill run down her spine as the air grew thick with an eerie energy.
Taylor and Ethan noticed it too, their faces concerned. "What's going on?" Taylor whispered.
Alex shook her head, her eyes scanning the room. "I don't know, but I don't like it."
Suddenly, the music stopped, and the lights went out completely. The room was plunged into darkness.
A low, menacing chuckle echoed through the gym, sending shivers down Alex's spine. She knew that laugh. It was Ramona.
"Time to face the darkness, Alex," Ramona's voice called out, echoing off the walls.
A faint glow began to emanate from the necklace Ariana had given Alex. The light grew brighter, illuminating the darkened gym.
Alex saw shadowy figures emerging from the darkness, their eyes glowing red. She knew she had to act fast.
"Taylor, Ethan, stay close!" Alex shouted, her voice steady.
Together, the trio faced the darkness head-on, ready to battle whatever lay ahead.
Mysterious hands reached out from the shadows, trying to grab Alex and her friends. But Alex was ready. With a flick of her wrist, she sent a blast of energy from the necklace, repelling the dark figures.
Taylor and Ethan watched in awe as Alex took charge, her powers growing stronger by the minute.
"Whoa, Alex, you're like a superhero!" Taylor exclaimed.
Ethan nodded, his eyes shining with pride. "We've got your back, Alex."
As the battle raged on, Ariana appeared, her eyes blazing with ancient power.
"The time of reckoning is here," Ariana declared, her voice ringing through the gym. "Ramona, you have gone too far."
Ramona emerged from the shadows, her eyes flashing with malevolence. "You'll never stop me, Ariana. I have the power of the darkness on my side."
The two enemies clashed, their powers locked in a fierce struggle. Alex, Taylor, and Ethan watched, frozen in awe, as the battle for control of the school reached its climax.
