Rayden nods back, squeezing Peter’s shoulder and they disappear in a whoosh of air.
Sarah’s hair blows in her face. She looks around Aura. Where’s Peter? Looking around the crowd, she does her best not to cause alarm, but her heart beating in her ears makes it hard.
Aura turns to her left where Peter stood. Glancing around, she shrugs, turning to air, and slips away.
Now alone, Sarah shrinks into herself, wrapping her arms around her stomach, and is more vigilant than ever.
Peter and Rayden reappear near the tents far from the clearing, and Rayden looks Peter in the eyes. “Bren, I do believe I’ve made a blunder.” He sighs, looking at the ground.
