Epilogue
Four years later…
“Is that the baby? She woke up from her nap early.” Mama and Papa were visiting the shore on a beautiful cloudless day in September.
“Stay here, Mama, I’ll go upstairs, change her and bring her to you.” Dennis came back down a few minutes later with the baby.
“You’re such a good boy, Dennis,” Luca’s mama replied. Luca was playing catch with their son just by the water line.
Mary Katherine and Angela both agreed to be surrogate mothers so each of them would have their own biological child but with some of the DNA of the other. In exchange Luca set up Stanley and Chet in an auto parts store which to everyone’s surprise was doing well. Angie didn’t want anything, but Luca set up trust accounts for her kids’ college.
