Epilogue

Leon and I moved in with Liam a year after dating. Liam proposed and he was sure I would accept to marry him, but I wasn’t ready. I said no every time he brought up the topic. Living with him was great as well as raising Leon together, but I wasn’t ready. 4 years later I finally agreed to marry Liam after dating for so long. When I finally decided I was ready to get married, we wanted the wedding to take place as soon as possible. We wanted to get signed at the court, but no our families wanted a big wedding. It took both Liam and I threatening my granny and Sue that we would elope if they didn’t reduce the number of guests from 700 to 200. We just wanted family and since most of our friends couldn’t make it due to short notice, we wanted less guests. Janet and Jason made it though and two of Liam’s friends. I didn’t want a bridal party, but Janet was gonna kill me if I denied her the right to be maid of honor. Apart from Janet and Chris Liam’s best man, we had Leon and Kristen Susan and Charles’s daughter as our bridal party. December was a busy month for all of us as we planned a wedding in less than a month. When Kate mentioned an outdoor wedding, Susan suggested her home as their house was big to accommodate family flying to London. The garden large and beautiful with plenty of white roses and the perfectly moored green lawn.  There was so much to be done and I changed my mind about the wedding every day. Cake tasting was exhausting so many cakes to taste and choosing cream was another thing. Susan oversaw picking the right menu to serve at the wedding and the décor. She still insisted on me choosing one theme and menu out of the many she picked. The day finally came, everything was in place and ready, I started to feel sick around 1pm. Not sure if it were exhaustion or cold feet. I mean was supper excited to marry Liam because I loved him, and he loved me too. I was scared to tell anyone knowing they might think I grew cold feet, so I went with the act. The event started at 3pm, with all the guests seated in the garden. Beautiful soft music was being played and everyone looked so beautiful. It was such a beautiful day I must say. Janet whispered it was time when the music started playing. Leon and Kristen went out first while Kristen threw rose petals from her bride’s maid basket as they went down the aisle. Janet and Chris went next, they both looked amazing. I was next and very nervous. The music stopped and started again and that was my que. Grandpa was waiting for me at the beginning of the aisle and Liam at the end. “Honey pie” grandpa stretched his hand and I moved forward. “Am nervous paps” I bet he could feel me shake. “Why should you be? You are the bride and today is your day” he kissed me on the cheek and covered my face with the vail. We walked down the aisle and I could feel everyone’s eyes focused on me which made me more nervous. My aim was to get to my groom who stood patiently waiting for me at the altar. Grandpa took his time and I had to follow his pace. “Liam am giving you my Grand baby and I expect you to take care of her more than I have” grandpa said this once we were standing at the altar. “I will protect and care for her with every breath I take” The wedding ceremony went as planned and way better than I had expected. After the marriage blessing, we had photos taken of Liam and I, individually, with Leon and Kristen, Janet and Chris and with the rest of the family. The setting sun created a beautiful backdrop with different shades of orange and red.
