Panic

It was hard for Liam to stop thinking about Kate all the time. Whenever he was free at the office he would just stare at Kate right through the glass walls which made her blush. She didn’t hate it but didn’t want to cause gossip around the office as that ‘girl having an affair with the boss’.

Kate on the other hand called him boss/sir to remind him that yes he was indeed her boss and not boyfriend. She always tried to keep things as professional as possible . She even turned down his requests to visit him at his place over weekends. We all know where that would lead.

Two weeks had passed since they came back from London and Kate started getting sick. She asked Liam if it was okay for her to come in for work after 9am and work late to cover up for the morning.

One morning while Kate was dressing up for work she realized something.

“I think I have gained weight.” She said as she looked at her body through the full length mirror in her room. She put on some weight in the past couple of months.

“I might need to get some new clothes soon.” She finished getting dressed and left for work.

Liam walked over to Kate’s office.

“Let’s go before we are late.” He said this and walked out heading to the elevator. Kate quickly caught up with him.

“After the meeting can we get some lunch?” Liam asked

“Sorry I already have plans for lunch” Kate said this as they got into Liam’s land cruiser. Liam paused before starting the car.

“Who do you already have plans with?” Liam looked at Kate while waiting for a response from her and she sensed some jealousy.

“With my best friend” Kate didn’t understand why Liam was asking all these questions.

“Is it a she or a he?” He asked

“What’s with you and all these questions?”

“I just want to know who you’re meeting and turning me down for” he said this still looking pissed and started the engine. Was Liam getting jealous that Kate may be seeing someone? It’s not like things were confirmed between them.

“Janet is who I am meeting, you are welcome to tag along” Kate said this and kept quiet. They both kept quiet the rest of the way until they got to their meeting. The meeting went well and after it was done they both went to ‘Roan and Sable’ to meet up with Janet.

Both Liam and Janet’s vehicles pulled up in the car park at the same time when the girls spotted each other. Janet came out of her car and walked over to meet Kate. Liam came round his car to where the girls were.

“Liam this is Janet my best friend” Kate smiled at both.

“Nice to meet you Janet” he stretched his hand forward.

“Nice to finally meet you” Janet shook his hand and smiled. “So are you joining us for lunch?” she added.

“I suppose I am” he replied. Just then Kate started to feel dizzy.

“I don’t feel too good” Kate held her head and collapsed to the ground. Both Janet and Liam were startled after watching Kate collapse to the ground. Liam knelt next to Kate’s body and picked her head and placed it on his lap.

“Kate please wake up” Liam starts to panic

“Liam pick her up and let’s take her to the hospital.”

“I think you are right, get the door for the back seat I will put her there” Janet quickly opens the backseat door to Liam’s car and they put her there. Janet follows with her car behind Liam as they rush to MKP Hospital. Once they get there Kate is rushed to an observation room where a doctor and nurses check on her. After 30mins the doctor calls both Liam and Janet into her office

“Is either one of you related to the girl you brought in?” she said this while looking at Kate’s file.

“This is her best friend Janet and I’m her boss” Liam responded.

“Ok since you are both close to her please make sure she takes care of herself? She needs to eat well and take enough rest in her condition” the doctor said.

“What condition doctor?” Janet asked

“We ran some tests and confirmed it with a scan that she is 15weeks 5days pregnant”

“WHAT!!!!!” Janet and Liam both said in sync.

“I always told her to see a doctor over her irregular periods” Janet thought to herself.

“Yes, she’s almost 4months pregnant now. We put her on a drip for glucose because her sugar levels were low which may have caused her to collapse. Once she wakes up in a few minutes I can discharge her but please just make sure she gets rest. Am giving her the rest of the week off to rest.”

 Both Liam and Janet froze after the doctor had finished talking and she showed them both where Kate was. As soon as they entered the room Kate opened her eyes.

“Ahh where am I” Kate spoke in a low voice and tried to sit up. Liam still stood in the door way not moving any further in. He was still in so much shock and couldn’t believe Kate was pregnant. Soon he vanished and left the hospital without saying anything.

“Where is Liam?” Kate asked

“He was right here……..” Janet turned and pointed at the door but Liam was not standing there anymore.

“He was here with me, but don’t worry about him how are you feeling?” Janet asked.

“I want to go home and rest”

“Let me check with the doctor first then we can go” Janet left the room to check with the doctor if Kate could go with her and the doctor agreed and they both left.

Liam’s P.O.V

I couldn’t help but wonder if I was the baby’s father. I stood by the window in my office deep in thought wondering how this could have happened. Then I had a flash back of that day.

       I saw this beautiful girl on the dance floor and I just had to talk to her. She wore a beautiful floral short dress which trailed up to her thighs right above her knees. I decided to approach her and talk to her.

“Hey beautiful” I said to her and she turned with a big smile on her face.

“Hi handsome” she had the most beautiful smile I had ever seen. Soon we both sat by the bar and got talking. We had so much fun until she got tired and wanted to leave. I wanted to take her home but she couldn’t remember where she lived so I thought I could book her a room but then I wasn’t sure it was safe to leave her alone all by herself so I stayed over with her. Once in the hotel room,

“I want to take a shower” she said in a drunken voice

“Okay the bathroom is that way, go take a shower” I said to her.

“Noooooo……I want you to come with me.” She made a puppy dog face and I couldn’t say no so we both went in the shower and took a shower together. The shower was too small for both of us and her ass was on my front making me groan silently because she was making me hard and I tried my very best to control myself. When we got out the shower she was drying herself and accidentally she dropped her towel exposing her naked body in front of me.

“Oops” she said in a cute voice. I got up quick and walked towards her.

“Baby doll you shouldn’t have dropped that towel” my breathing was now heavy, and my heart was racing. I soon grabbed her close to my body and kissed her passionately. I didn’t give her a chance to decide whether we should continue or not I just wanted her. I wanted to make love to her. I wanted to please her. I wanted to do things to her body which even I didn’t know. After making love to her we both lay in the bed holding on to each other till morning when I had to leave her. It hurt me to leave her. I wish I had taken her to my house instead of Radisson Blu hotel. I wished I knew her name or gotten her number the night before. She was on my mind all week until I saw her walk into my office the following week as my assistant. I didn’t know whether I should reintroduce myself or not but it seemed she didn’t recognize me. I didn’t think she was that drunk when I met her not to remember me a week later, after we met and had a magical night together.  It was so selfish of me to play along that we were meeting for the first. I made her day hell because I was pissed as hell, nothing was going as planned that day. I wanted to get to know her better and so I went along with everything and apologized to her.

And now she’s pregnant, how will I tell her that I might be responsible for her pregnancy? How will I tell her we met before she came to work as my assistant? Soon it was 9pm I decided I had to go home. The next day’s went by fast and Kate was on bed rest she didn’t come in for work. I really missed her and I wish I had the courage to call and check how she was feeling. I was such a jerk again and didn’t know how to behave when she returned.
