My terrifying mate

      The only sound in the deep dark woods was the wind making its way through the trees, until a loud screams cut the silence. Heavy breathing and snapping branches only just added to this terrifying symphony that passed throughout the forest, as Katherine run for her life. Her bare feet was already giving up from the pain of branches cutting deep into her moonlight skin. The tears like small pearls were leaving her dark brown sugar eyes as she looked for her way out from this hell. As she got some distance between her and the pack territory, screams started to become distant memory.         She stopped to gasp for the  freezing air as she hear a vehicle moving on a rough concrete road not far from where she was standing. Hope sparked fire in her feet to move and continued fighting as she ran, crushing into every branch and sticks in her way. Her loud breathing only made her realise how close she was to her freedom. Without thinking she just stumbled out in the middle of the road and collapsed to her knees. Tears fall down her cheers like waterfall and the sobs could be heard from miles away.        A giggle broke Katherine's grief and brought her attention to little thing in her arms that she had been protecting since her mate was killed. It was little girl her with eyes as grey as morning mist and her large smile could bring happiness to anyone. "You have his eyes and my smile. I will protect you even if I have to die. You are my little treasure Beatrice" she thought to herself not realising the car that was coming towards them. The blinding lights of the car stopped on Katherine like they were try to warn her. With the only strength left in her, as Katherine sat on cold concrete, ready for the impact to happen she clinched to the tiny thing in her hands like it was her only life force.        But the impact never happen instead there was a figure in front of her, moving and talking but she didn't hear a thing. The darkest started to crawl into her vision and after that all she could see and feel was darkness, with her last breath she transfer her magic into the baby as it was done before to Katherine by her own mother.
