Damien looked at me as if I had gone mad. I knew what I said and I was going to stand by it. Leaving this place now is out of the question because I wasn't going to risk my life out there where I am at the mercy of Arthur or the WIC company.
He was safe and I liked it here for some weird reason. I just can't explain.
'' Ella, I can't believe that you are the one saying this,'' Damien let out with disappointment in his eyes.

'' But what if Micheal finds out the truth that I am the reason his daughter didn't come back to him,'' Damien asked.
