CHAPTER 7
The stadium was trembling. Not just with sound but with something deeper.
“ODUGWU!!!”
“BURNA BOYYYYYY!!!”
“NA AFROBEAT GET POWER!!!”
People screamed until their voices cracked. Lightsticks were spinning like tornados. A girl in the front row had fainted and was being fanned by two K-pop fans.
Even the Korean idols were stunned — ATEEZ clapped their hands above their heads, while NCT’s Jaehyun kept repeating, “That guy is crazy good.”
Backstage, the chaos was different.
Cameras flashed. Sweat dripped. Staff ran with towels. Artists hugged each other like family. Omah Lay high-fived Burna Boy as he came off stage.
“You shook that place, man,” Rema grinned.
Burna just smiled and pointed at the stage.
“Next up is the 001 himself.”
But before the lights shifted again, a familiar laugh echoed behind the curtain.
It was Shallipopi.
He wasn’t on the performance list tonight, but his energy filled the room.
Dressed in dark shades and chains, he leaned against the wall, sipping from a red solo cup.
“Make una scatter this stage well,” he said with a smirk, flashing his signature grin.
Even without performing, the street-pop king knew how to leave a mark.
On stage, the lights dimmed.
The MC returned, panting from excitement.
“Ladies and gentlemen, what you’re about to witness is more than a show…”
He paused, letting the tension rise like steam.
“This is the AFRICAN GIANT of melodies… the King of Vibes… the one that no gate can hold back... 001 himself… OBO DAVIDOOOOO wey dey shake the whole globe!!”
The screen behind exploded in green and white, then flickered into flames.
The beat of “FIA” kicked in loud, electric, and sharp.
Davido jumped onto the stage in all-white.
“No long talk!”
He spun the mic once and yelled:
“SEOUL!! I WANNA HEAR YOUUUUU!!”
Fia, Fia
The beat dropped.
The crowd lit up as the drums kicked in.
🎶
“Dance make I dance…”
“Give me love make I love…”
“Make no other one above!”
“Shawty want a million dollar…”
(Shekpe!)
“Say make I wire, wire…”
“Turn me to undercover, maga o…”
“She say all her friends are (friends are!)
Living la vida loca (I-I-I-loca!)

“FIA! FIA! Burn dem! FIA!”
The fire effects lit up behind him.
Dancers burst out in formation, legs flying.
🎶
“Yeh! You for dey for me (you for dey!)

“I go put one leg for fire!”
The arena went WILD.
Lightsticks flashed.
Legwork broke out across the stadium.
The crowd lost control again.
Jungkook of BTS actually stood up and started mimicking the legwork.
Davido didn’t stop there.
Without warning, the beat changed
“Unavailable” came in next.
Ayy-ayy, ayy, ayy-ayy
🎶
I'm unavailable (unavailable)
Dem no dey see me (dem no dey see me)
I'm unavailable (unavailable)
Dem no dey see me (dem no dey see me)
I'm unavailable (unavailable)
Dem no dey see me (dem no dey see me)

Then came the beat infectious, bold, and proudly Afrobeat.
🎶
"I'm unavailable (unavailable)
Dem no dey see me (dem no dey see me)
I'm unavailable (unavailable)
Dem no dey see me (dem no dey see me)..."
🎶
The audience echoed the words back like a choir possessed, waving their phones and flags in the air.
Davido chuckled into the mic and turned up the heat.
🎶
"And I sorry for who? (who?)
Who wan gbe my matter s'ori
I'm only human (human)
So make b'body para o!"
🎶
The stage lights flared with each beat drop, casting waves of red and gold over the roaring crowd. Davido’s dancers hit every move with precision, hips swinging in sync with the beat.
🎶
"Say I carry woman (woman)
Shey na man wey I for carry?
Fk all the rumors

🎶
The audience screamed with laughter and delight, loving every unapologetic lyric.
Davido grinned.
🎶
"If you know, you know

'Cause owo ni koko (koko)"
🎶
He pointed into the crowd:
"Oga Ade, dey your dey me I dey for the dey!"
By the time he hit the final chorus:
🎶
"Girl, I'm unavailable..."
🎶
The entire stadium was a sea of movement, joy, and freedom.
By the time Davido wrapped up, the fans were begging for more.
A fan held a sign: “AFROBEAT CURE DEPRESSION.”
The MC came back, voice shaking.
“We’ve reached the final performer of tonight... But this isn’t just anyone.”
The lights went off completely.
Silence.
Then a single spotlight beamed down from above.
“This is STARBOY.”
“The man whose sound made the whole world listen…”
“THE LEGEND... THE GLOBAL ICON… THE ONE AND ONLY… WIZKIDDDDDDD!!!”
