CHAPTER 6 The MC returned to the stage, still catching his breath from the Sabillity takeover. MC: “Wow wow wow... that was a blast! I have never witnessed this kind of vibe in my entire hosting career. Really, Afrobeat is on another level — this is beyond music, this is a movement!” He looked toward the wings of the stage, voice now rising. “Okay ladies and gentlemen… it’s time to welcome another giant of Afrobeat, a young legend already making global history. One of the hottest exports from Nigeria!” “Make some noise for the one and only bad boy from Benin... THE PRINCE OF MAVIN... THE SOUNDGOD HIMSELF... REMAAAAAAA!!!” The lights turned blood red. The beat came low and steady like a lion approaching. Then… BOOM! Rema walked out slow, controlled. Black leather pants, red vest, boots that thudded with each step. A red beret tilted slightly on his head. No smile. Just heat. The crowd exploded. Rema: “Seoul... Are you ready for some vibes or make I go back house?” Fans roared in response. Rema smirked and turned to the DJ. Rema: “DJ run Calm Down! Let’s gooooo!” 🎶 Another banger “Baby calm down, calm down… Girl this your body e put in my heart for lockdown, for lockdown, oh lockdown…” The crowd knew every word. A sea of voices echoed the lyrics. Even the K-pop idols were singing some in accents, others shouting offbeat but with full passion. BTS’s Jimin was caught vibing on camera, mouthing along with a hand on his chest. The music flipped. The red lights went strobe. Dancers stepped forward. 🎶 “Girl you sweet pass Fanta, Fanta...” “If I tell you say I love you, no dey form yanga, oh yanga…” The crowd screamed every word. Phones were shaking. Fans cried, laughed, sang — all at once. Even TXT’s Soobin was caught on camera grinning ear to ear, repeating, “Yanga... yanga...” like he just learned his new favorite slang. Then came the iconic drop. Rema walked to the edge of the stage, mic raised, smile mischievous. Rema (pointing playfully at the idols): “No tell me no no no no... whoa whoa whoa whoa…” “Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!” The echo in the stadium was massive 🎶 “Baby come gimme your lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo love.." “You got me like..” “Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa...” “Shawty come give me your lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo lo love, mm mm...," Girls screamed. Lightsticks shook. Even idols clutched their chests like they just got hit with love thunder. BLACKPINK’s Jennie burst out laughing, clapping wildly. TXT’s Beomgyu leaned forward, shouting: “Yo! He’s FIRE!” Suddenly, the bass dropped again deep, heavy, seductive. “Ehhhhhhhhhhh!!!” The crowd screamed in anticipation. “Girl I'm in love with your botty bounce…” “Girl I'm in love with your botty bounceeee…” Rema grinned and rolled his hips playfully on beat. The background screen turned neon red, showing animated silhouettes of a woman dancing in slow motion — bold and unapologetic. The dancers joined in, two on each side, matching the bounce with fierce Afro-styled choreography. “Huhhhh, when I wey the thing, e weigh like ten thousand pounds…” “Girl this night, we dey go like seven rounds …” Rema twirled the mic in one hand, flashing that cheeky grin again. The beat dropped heavier, slower — the bass thumped like a second heartbeat. 🎶 > “And if you open Pandora…” “I go give you everything wey you neeeed…” “Girl I'm in love with your botty bounce…” “Girl I'm in love with your botty bounnnce…” He spun around mid-line and pointed to the front row, hips swaying effortlessly. The screen behind him exploded in a flurry of bouncing golden waves — Afrobeat symbolism flooding the stage. Girls screamed. Boys cheered. Even Korean idols couldn’t sit still anymore. “Rema!!!” “BOTTY BOUNCE ON REPLAY!!!” “WHO GAVE THIS BOY VIBES???” The arena was shaking — literally. Lightsticks flashing red, green, yellow. Amapiano drums echoing faintly from backstage. Rema winked, then raised both hands like a champion. “SEOUL… I LOVE YOU!!!” The echoes of Rema’s “Bounce” were still fading when the stadium suddenly went dark. Total blackout. Just silence and then “Las las…” “Na everybody go chop breakfast…” The sound wasn’t even loud yet, just the intro beat of “Last Last” creeping through the silence like a storm on the horizon. But the crowd? They erupted like lightning had struck. “ODOGWUUUUUUU!!!” “BURNA IS HEEEEEEEREEEE!!!” “IT’S OVER FOR EVERYBODY!!!” Even the idols backstage froze. The MC looked like he was about to faint. One influencer dropped her ring light in shock. Before anyone saw him, the earth was already shaking. And then… THE STAGE EXPLODED IN FLAMES. And from the fire walked a man in a black coat and diamond grills — calm, heavy, like a lion that knew the jungle belonged to him. Burna Boy. African Giant. Odogwu. He didn’t say a word. He just held the mic to his lips and sang: 🎶 “Shayo oh.., nah!!. “Shayo oh..., Igbo oh!!. “You go bow for the result o…” “Nothing to discuss o…” “‘Cause I dey win by default o…” “And without any doubt, oh.." 🎶 The beat of “Last Last” hit full blast. The crowd didn’t just sing along — they screamed it. Phones shook. Even Korean fans who barely knew the lyrics chanted the “breakfast” line like a war cry. “LAS LAS!!!” “NA EVERYBODY GO CHOP!!!” “BREAKFAAAAAAAST!!!” Burna moved across the stage like a general with his troops dancers dressed in black agbadas with fire-patterned sleeves swarmed behind him, moving like shadows. The screen flashed heartbreak visuals, broken glasses, Nigerian traffic, lovers fighting in rain. 🎶 “I need igbo and shayo, shayo…” “I need Igbo and shayo, shayo…” “I need igbo and shayo, shayo…” “Shayo, shayo, shayo, shayo..." 🎶 The fans lost it. Even TXT’s Yeonjun was spotted mouthing the “shayo” part with two fists in the air like a real Naija boy. Then silence. The beat cut. Burna Boy raised one hand… A single drum roll… And then came the next anthem: “CITY BOY!” Traditional talking drums blended with hard bass. The lights blinked rapidly in sync with a distorted voice counting: 🎶 “One... Two... Three... City boyyyyy!” "Girls inna my crib..." "Zero Snapchat, Zero i********: posting..." "F*ck up the vibe yeah, My d*CK start falling like London bridge..." Crowd: "Chop my bana... Won't say, "I love you" Then no stoppin' o (I-I-I) Go shoppin' o F-that (I-I), Shi ( yeah) 🎶 "Mi'o fa Colorado oh, Breakfast mo n fa o.." "Mi'o de ni mu jekomo..." "Azul and Champagne in bamboo oh.." Burna smirked, gripping the mic with one hand and throwing the other in the air like he was leading a prayer , a party prayer. 🎶 "That's the life of a city boyyy, ah ah ah…” "O ye ke da mo, O ye ke je lo!” "O ye ke jowo o, O ye ke ah, O ye ke eh.. o ye ke.." 🎶 Screams shot across the stadium. A group of Korean girls in the front row had made “CITY BOY FAN CLUB” placards and were jumping like it was a BTS comeback. Meanwhile, at the far edge of the VIP section… Wizkid sat relaxed in a black bomber jacket, legs crossed, holding a glass of water with two fingers. He didn’t clap. He didn’t shout. He just… smiled. A slow, knowing nod. Like: "Yeah. That’s the kind of chaos we create." His chain glinted under the dim lights. Even with Burna shaking the stadium to its roots. Wizkid still felt like the calm in the storm, the one everybody would be watching next.
