I look around checking our surroundings, trying to make sure we aren't being followed, I don't hear or see anything even with my sharp hearing and sight, which I guess is good but my instincts still have me on high alert, in the world we live in now, you can never be to cautious about anything. I notice Diablo breathing harder and favoring his right side, I know we have to make this quick because even just the feint smell of his blood is driving my instincts crazy, but I need him alive, I have a feeling that my unlikely companion here will be useful in the coming day's, Whether I like that idea or not I guess is not up to me but up to our unforseen future. I pick up my pace so I'm walking on front of Diablo now and make my way to the front of the gun shop, the windows have all been boarded up yet the door is ajar, the window on the door is broken and shattered glass is everywhere, I try to side step the most of it, but there's no use its everywhere, I can hear the slight crunching of glass behind me letting me know that my companion is okay for now. I turn to put my hand up in a stop motion noticing he's leaning up against the side of the building, he nods his head in understanding and I tilt my head towards the door tuning into the sounds within the shop, I can hear at least one zombie in there banging around and groaning which makes my job easier since it's only one that I can hear. I step back towards my companion and speak in a low enough voice where he can hear me but the zombie within the shop can't " I am going to go in there and gather what I can, there's only one in there but I don't want to risk you going in while injured" he nods his head in understanding a grimace of pain painting his features letting me know I need to hurry my ass up asap, I reach down into my boot and grab my knife that I have stored in there, i hand it to him so he has at least something to defend himself with just in case. I crouch down slightly and slink my way back towards the front door of the shop, making sure not to make any sound, I notice that my red tainted vision has intensified with the impending danger ahead of me. As I stand there in front of the door I listen to exactly where the zombie is and I pin point it, it seems to be locked in a room located somewhere in the back of the shop which makes my job that much easier. I nudge the door with the toe of my boot and slowly make my way in, I grab the other knife thats in the wistband of my jeans and hold it out in front of me as I slink further into the store, its dark but with my vision I can see perfectly fine. The store seems like its seen better day's, most of the guns are gone along with clips and knives but there's just enough left thankfully, I notice a discarded backpack near the left wall and rush over to grab it and I make my way around the store grabbing all the hand guns, clips and knives I can find and throw everything into the bag, once I'm satisfied with how full it is I zip it up and throw the straps over my shoulders making sure to adjust them so it sits more comfortably on my back, I make my way towards the front the of the store and outside I make my way to my companion and see him looking for ghostly then when I left him, he's slumped against the wall his breathing to shallow for my liking. I speed over to him and notice he's out of it because he doesn't seem to see me until I put my face in front of his, I let him know that we are going to be on our way now but I'm going to help him to the hospital. . I wrap my arms around his waste and he slings his arm around my shoulders, its to me because you would think between the bag of weapons on my back and then his added weight I would be out of breath like any normal human, but considering I keep forgetting that I'm no longer human so what would have bothered me as a human won't bother me anymore. He leans against me putting most of his weight on me which to me he feels as light as a feather lol, we slowly make our way back towards the front of the alley leading to the hospital, it takes us longer to go back the way we came since I have to stop every foot or so, so he fan catch his breath then we start walking again. It feels like it takes us hours to go back the way we came when in reality it took us no more then ten minutes but my instincts aren't to keen with the snail pace but I also can't risk rushing Diablo either for fear of tearing open his wound anymore then it already is, I can hear him taking shallow breaths, hissing in pain every once in a while I know its painful but I can see the hospital just up ahead as we round the corner thankfully luck is on our side and I don't see any roaming zombies close by but I can hear them trapped within the buildings surrounding us.
