CHAPTER 8 – TRUDErik looked around. The fallen Vikings continued to pour into Valhalla, a seemingly endless stream, mutilated and smashed to pieces on the battlefield, waiting to be welcomed by the Valkyries. Erik really wanted to see how they reattached the men’s severed arms, legs and heads, but he didn’t dare to set foot in Valhalla again.
He turned away from the fortress and spotted a lanky boy watching him. The youth gave him a rather hostile look, but Erik thought no more of it because just then Trud walked up to him.
“Hi, Erik,” she said. “So you’re the boy Thor brought back from Earth?”
Erik nodded.
“You look quite ordinary,” she said with an infectious laugh.
Erik smiled shyly.
“This is the first time I’ve met a real live human being! How exciting!”
