The billionaire Peter Carrington is being called to account for how his business activities are being restricted in Mexico; compelled to go there and handle things, he sends his son, Adrian, to take care of it.

Understanding why their business activities are being restricted to citizenship, it becomes imperative for him to marry a local to become a full citizen. Sofia and her family were on the verge of losing Mateo, her baby brother, who was extremely sick, and they couldn’t afford to pay for the surgeries that were needed. Unable to handle the pain of losing his child, her father goes ahead to stage a robbery at work, but unfortunately, he is caught.

Now the debts being owed by the Ramirez are lifted as a contract marriage is proposed to the family. They have no option but to take the offer; now caught in between different worlds, Sofia and Adrian must both face the truth: some contracts are easy to sign but impossible to walk away from.

The Beginning
Adrian Carrington woke up to a message from his dad. He was already used to his dad summoning him, most of the time for work and business, so he thought to himself, “What is it this time?” After all, it was his father’s name in boardrooms that people respected so much and never took for granted. The idea that once Peter Carrington summons you himself, it's pretty much that serious. Adrian grew up understanding that silence was also a currency, one that compelled people to obey, and people who understood that power did not need to announce itself to be noticed, and this not only shaped him but also disciplined him till it suffocated him. The office in New York stands out in the city with its glass walls, an elegant hardwood floor, and an atmosphere that speaks of high class. Peter stood by the window facing the city while returning the entire office and the door; his posture was still, his body language remained fixed, and he didn't make any movement as Adrian entered. “Mexico,” Peter said, as if he were about to finish the conversation. “The Paras de la Fuentes branch has never had anything like this before, and we have been there for a few years, so why now?” Adrian was already wondering what the issue was, but said nothing. “Local authorities are instigating ethical violations. The locals are expressing concerns about commodities and finances. Peter’s voice is now speaking with a calm irritation. “They are blocking expansion and stalling permits.” “That’s unusual,” Adrian finally responded. This was never a problem; they should be glad locals get to work and get paid.” Peter turned, facing him now, his eyes sharply meeting his as he looked at him blankly, the way he always does, like a project yet to finish. “That is why you will be handling it.” The words coming out of Peter were as he expected. Adrian did not understand at the moment; he thought it was just one of those projects. “I will send a team…” “No,” Peter cut in. “I want you to go personally and handle it yourself.” Adrian understood immediately that this was not just an assignment; it was a distant one disguised as trust. “I did not know he wanted me gone so soon,” Adrian said to himself. Without saying anything else, he nodded in agreement. Conflicted if his dad just wanted him far away or was finally giving him something to do by himself. Thinking to himself, “Is this one of those tests to prove myself to him?” Mexico, it is. Another disguised opportunity. He was warmly welcomed in Paras de la Fuentes. The city was the total opposite of New York-themed, a smaller living, not loud and busy, but calm. Adrian moved through the city like a typical business foreigner, with escorts and a casual business fit of chinos with a tucked button-down and clean, classy sneakers with guarded efficiency, getting attention and inviting a cold, quiet resentment. The company offices looked like a million bucks, but something felt off about the atmosphere; one could almost tell from the faces of everyone that it was brittle. After staying for a few days of countless meetings with the local authorities and the people in charge, he understood what the problem was, and it wasn’t about money. Speaking with the management directly, he confirmed that he had offered the locals' money to waive this, but it simply wouldn't go away. It wouldn't change the fact that the firm was viewed as foreign by them; it was just taking advantage of their resources for financial gain and using the locals as cheap labor, which was against the city's rules. This made the authorities suspicious. The business had complied with all legal requirements, but not ethically. Adrian was appalled; to him, the distinction was unnecessary and an insult to his sense of order. He felt that morality was unidentifiable and didn’t fit into any of the books in this case, and yet here he was pausing his order of business. He held meetings with lawyers, advisors, and consultants so he could learn more about what this really meant for business and listened more than he spoke, gathering all that he wanted. The more he listened and learned, the more he realized that this issue required something way beyond money and leverage. Thinking of what he would do as a permanent solution, he would spend his days on the farm with the workers to observe the vineyards and the whole operations, just as he stood, enjoying the view with his mind racing with a lot of ideas. On that day, he got a call from his consultants and advisers about a proposed suggestion. “Finally,” he thought to himself, an end to this madness. Just as he was heading to his office, mentally wondering what would bring an end to all this, he noticed a lady's figure leaning against a stone pillar, just still watching the vineyard.
