Chapter twenty-one - Doubts and honesty
Nia's POV: Jasmine doesn't like me. I can feel it. I don't understand what she has against me. I didn't do anything to her. Noah keeps talking to me. I can't tell him to stop. That is the only thing that we do. Nothing else is happening. She has no reason to be jealous. The other thing is that we talk only when he comes home from work. I'm trying to keep the conversations simple and short. I should say formal. I don't want to have problems with her. She has warned me a few times to stay away from him. I will gladly do that, but I can't. He told me how the old maid got fired. I don't want the same thing to happen to me. I want to earn my money by working, not any other way.
