The High School Murder

My name is Vanessa Arten, I am a 10th grader of the famous Burston High School, but I think it is only famous in Darkhota Hills, where I live with My mom and Uncle Bryan, (My mom's younger brother). As for my Dad, I never knew him, not that he died before i was born, Nope that would have been better, but he just left and never came back. Sometimes, I am asked if I wished he would come back, but what's the use? If he had left before I was born, why would he come back now?, and even if he did come back, I don't wish to see him. I am what you could call a "Chick'n'Geek," a chick cause I am a real beauty, right shape, had I not been a geek, I would have been in the cheer leading squad. But rather I prefer to be a geek. Everyone knows what a geek means, "Boring, not fashionable but very very intelligent," I am able to match been a chick and geek together. My social life is about 25%, well that's even because I have a phone and on social media, besides that nothing else. I prefer to study. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are my best friends, they are always with me, I love Physics the more and would love to become a scientists like the famous Albert Einstein, Micheal Faraday, and Isaac Newton, to mention a few. Sometimes I fantasize teachers reading a law in physics to students and at the end say, 'that law was propounded by the famous Vanessa Arten,' and I would imagine the students applause, 'oh! Wouldn't that be wonderful?'. Being a geek 'A'ing my exams was like crossing 't's and doting 'i's, in fact I had an A in all my exams last term. This kinda made me teacher's favourite, they would say, 'Here is a genus, and not just another pretty face.' The holiday was great, although I spent it with my Mom and Uncle Bryan in our family cabin, somewhere in the woods. It belonged to my Grand Father, but he passed away about a year ago. We went camping, hiking, sight seeing, fishing and so on, it was so much fun!!!, I wished the holidays would last forever, but of course it didn't and I would be going back to school today. Burston High School, is a government owned school, so you could guess how populated it would be, but despite that, it had the best facilities than any other school in Darkhota Hills. My favourite places in school are the lab, the library and the botanical garden. I hardly spend a day in school without visiting this places. I walk down to school every morning, it's not that far, I mean my home to the school. My Mom once got me a bicycle, I did enjoy riding to school but, I prefer walking, it's a way of exercising my body. I always arrive at school early, I am never late and today won't be an exception either. I had a quick breakfast of toast and coffee, prepared by my Mom, she is such a lovely cook. My eye sight isn't so good, so I use glasses, which added more to my nerdy look. In fact without my glasses, I see images blurry, so I walk even with my glasse. I told my Mom goodbye as I walked out the house, a small bungalow which fits my family perfectly. It's a five minute walk to my school, so I started the walk to Burst on High. I am so eager to get to school for three reasons. The first is actually because it's the first day of resumption. Then secondly, it's my last term.in tenth grade, I would be an eleventh grader by next session. And thirdly, I had missed my friends, Jessica, Eddie and Carl. They are geeks like me, if they hadn't, I don't think we would get along for so long. I soon arrived at the school gate, surprisingly lots of students were already in school, maybe because it's the first day, I thought. Jessie and Eddie were already in class, they were so happy to see me, and so was I, I had missed them so much. 'Hi Nessa' Jessica said as she hugged me. 'What's up Ed?' I asked shaking hands with him. 'I am cool, and you look great, holiday at grandpa's cabin was fun, right?' He asked me. He is always so inquisitive. Everyone calls him 'Eddie, the questionnaire,' He loves asking questions. 'Yeah, it was' I replied, not giving him the details he wanted, must I really tell him all that. In a few hours, the whole school was agog with noise. Every student had arrived apart from my buddy Carl. He had gone for holidays outside Darkhota and just returned last night, he was so tired so he called in sick. Such a funny fellow, calling in sick on the first day. The preps and jocks had gathered in one corner of the class filling every where with what I call "Disruption of tranquility,' in layman's word NOISE. They were so loud, talking about parties and fun places they attended, at times, I listen to them but other times I go straight to the library. But today, I felt like listening, so did Jessie, an abbreviation for Jessica, I was the only one who called her that. Eddie left for the lab, he would have stayed had it been Carl was around. The cheerleaders had organized a pool party alongside the footballers and basket ball players, I knew this through the prep talks and jock gists as I call them. Claudia, my classmate, although I have never spoken or said a word to her, we are two completely different personality. Claudia is in the cheerleading squad, she isn't the only one, but you could say she is the one with, "The Big Mouth". As expected she is the one narrating what happened at the party. 'Do you know what Bobby Larson did?' She asked. I could hear the excitement in her voice, obviously that wasn't the first thing she would be saying, but that was the only thing she had said that drew my attention. Bobby Larson!!! There is no one in Burst on High who doesn't know the handsome playboy in 12th grade, s basket ball player and the cause of many girls heart break. Inspire of this, the number of girls who has a crush on Bobby keeps increasing everyday. To be honest, he is indeed ravishing but I had other things to do than think of Bobby. 'Well Bobby wanted to go skinny-dipping' Claudia exclaimed. 'Oh my gosh!!!' I can never imagine doing that alone, talk less about doing that in public, 'skinny dipping means swimming with no clothes on, I mean NO clothes on, 'are you kidding me!'. 'With his latest girlfriend Tasha, but she was so shy and refused to,' Claudia explained. 'So he broke up with her, right there and then,' 'Wow!' There goes another name to his ex list, I thought. Bobby never dates a girl twice, I was so eager to hear what happened next. 'Then he said, who is willing, you had to see how girls in the cheer leading squad started to take off their bikini,' Claudia said now jumping with excitement. There was a loud WOW,from her listeners, including myself and Jessie, 'Girls were so willing to do that for Bobby?' 'He choose Nicky at the end, and Tasha left the party embarrassed, her time as Bobby Larson's girl was over,' Claudia laughed so did the jocks and prep. We soon started classes, and I was once more reunited to my best friends, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 'Let this week run smoothly, oh Lord!' I prayed.
