Evan called me and asked me over to his place. This was a first for us; it was usually my place we went to. He lives with his parents—yes, he mostly stays in the pool house and can be private, but it isn’t the same.
So, him inviting me over was surprising. It also made me worried. Maybe I messed things up, and he just wants to be friends?
When I got to the Case’s, I noticed the lack of vehicles. Was it just going to be me and Evan?
I got out of my car and rang the doorbell. Evan answered the door, and I noticed he was dressed all in black: a black T-shirt and black jeans.
“You look like Danny Zuko from *Grease*,” I joked with him.
Evan looked down at his clothes and replied, “Wasn’t my plan when I got out of the shower.”
“I like it; black is a good color for you,” I told him.
