I finished up my workout and headed up stairs. I kept thinking back to what Eric had said. It made me so happy to know that he loved Astrid so much already. The fact that he declared that he would lay his life down for her is huge. He also said that she is his true Luna. That is just amazing. It feels good and right. Now, if I could just get Sedrick to see it too. 

I feel like that is going to to be a losing game until he sees Star for what she really is. I remember when I decided that I would never take her on as our chosen Mate. I had just began to warm up to the idea. We hadn’t found our true mate and we are quite old to not be mated. Alphas typically found their mates around 18-20 years old. It begins to take it’s toll on you when you don’t have a Luna to help you out with the pack. Luckily, we had each other so we could take longer to find her but we were both getting restless. We need to have an heir for the pack to be comfortable. 

I was trying to find Star to see if she wanted to go on a date with me. I decided that I should probably get to know her if we were really going to pick her. She was beautiful after all. She had long blonde hair, blue eyes, and pouty lips. Sh was tall and thin. She had no breast naturally so she had them added on. She never trained with the soldiers or worked in the pack house though. I am not sure what she actually ever did. She just rode on Sedrick’s coat tails I guess.

I found her in the kitchen screaming in Miss Martha’s face. Miss Martha was like my second mother. She was the head kitchen worker and always made Sed and I treats when we were little. She always had fresh, warm chocolate chip cookies for us and a big warm hug. She was like the grandma that you always wanted. She also always made us special Christmas cookies. Anyways, Star was throwing a massive fit. She was upset because Miss Martha did not have her fat free dressing. She, apparently, told her yesterday to get more and Miss Martha did not have the time to go get it before the end of her shift. 

Star found this unacceptable. She was yelling that Miss Martha should have gone after her shift to get it for her. Miss Martha tried to explain that she couldn’t as she had to take care of her granddaughter. Star was fuming. 

I couldn’t take it anymore. No one deserves to be treated that way. Miss Martha works hard until the very end of her shift and then works hard after as well. She has never said anything bad to anyone or done anything malicious. 

“That’s enough, Star. If you wanted the salad dressing so badly, you should have went out and bought it yourself.”

She turned around so quickly to look at me. I don’t think she realized who was talking to her at first. She had a sneer on her face and looked as if she were about to yell at me. As soon as she realized that it was me she began to fake cry.

“Seb, you don’t understand. I needed that dressing to make dinner for Sedrick and you. I was going to surprise you both with a nice romantic dinner. I am sorry that I yelled at the cook. I shouldn’t have done that. I was just upset.”

“You need to apologize to Miss Martha, not to me.”

She looked as if she wanted to throw up but she turned and apologized to Miss Martha. I didn’t not miss that she said it very tight lipped and like she was in pain the entire time. Miss Martha nodded and walked away quickly. I mind linked her very quickly to ask if this is how Star always treats the kitchen staff. Miss Martha didn’t want to say at first but then broke down and said yes. Star was awful to any of the omegas that crossed her path. 

That was it for me I knew that I didn’t want to pick her as my chosen mate. She wasn’t fit to help lead this pack. If she didn’t respect everyone at the same level then she would slowly destroy this pack. A Luna needs to show respect and love to everyone equally. I know that Astrid will do that. Especially since she brought to my attention that the Omegas homes were not up to her standard. I decided to take a drive down there as soon as I got the chance and talk to Sedrick about it. 

Maybe, if I can get Sed to see Star in action then he will get over her and accept Astrid. This pack will go so far with Astrid leading it. She is going to do amazing things. I just know it. 

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I am fine. I am sorry. I am just thinking about some work stuff.”

“You have been standing in front of the shower with the water running for ten minutes now.” Her giggle is the best thing that I have ever heard.

I will get in now and then we can head out. Maybe we could pick up some dinner too.”

“That sounds great!” She just actually jumped and clapped her hands together. Can she possibly get any cuter than she already is?

I finished getting ready quickly. I figured casual was the way to go. I wasn’t sure which stores she would want to go to. I put on a black v neck shirt, a pair of jeans, and my go to boots. I brushed my hair out and put some gel in it. 

Astrids eyes lit up with lust when I walked out. “Like what you see, babe?”

“I sure do. I love when your t-shirt is tight like that.”

I gave her a small kiss and asked if she were ready to go. She immediately  said yes and skipped out of the apartment. How on Earth did I get so lucky?

We ran into the two people that I didn’t want to see in the hallway.

“Oh hello, how are you guys doing tonight?” Astrid is took kind to ask since Star did slap her across the face. I am trying to not make a big deal out of it. Astrid did not say anything to me about it but the kitchen staff told me immediately what happened. 

“We are turning in for the night.” At least Sedrick kept it PG. I am sure they were going to do more than “turn in for the night”. 

“That sounds nice. We are going to go shopping and then to get dinner.”

“Do you need money?” Of course she didn’t need money! 

“No, I have it covered brother.” What did he think he was trying to do?

“I see. Have fun then.” He opened his door and they disappeared into his apartment. Thank goddess.

“Shall we leave now?” I could not wait to get out of here. I hate that my interactions were becoming so strained with my own brother now. I hope that we can figure this out quickly. 

We made it down to the garage and I had her pick a car to take. I had five vehicles to pick from. They were all black and well taken care of. “You like the color black, huh?” “It is my preferred color.”, I said. She decided to go with the black Suburban. “Do we need such a large car? It is only the two of us.”

“I plan on buying a lot.” That giggle was going to be the death of me.  I know it. I opened her door and helped her climb in. 

“Where to first, babe?”

“Hobby Lobby, they close at 8 so I am going to need to go there first.”

“Did you look up their hours today?”

“No silly, every Hobby Lobby closes at 8. It’s my favorite store. I don’t agree with their  policies or what they do with their money but it has been hard to replace them. Michaels is my second favorite but they don’t have as large as a selection as Hobby Lobby.”

Wow. I don’t think I have ever put so much thought into the stores that I shop in. That was impressive. I mean, I just order everything off of sss so I guess I have no room to talk. 

The closer that we got to Hobby Lobby, the more excited she became. “What are we buying here?”

“Stuff for our home! It screams “adult male living alone”. We need to spice it up a bit.” She flashed a huge smile at me and I had a feeling that we were going to be in here for a long time. We had two hours until closing time. Surely, we won’t be in there that entire time but I am not sure now. 

Sh grabbed a cart and we walked down every single aisle. Why were Christmas items out before Halloween? She started asking me all kinds of questions. How do I feel about this and that? We got Fall items, we got christmas items, bedroom decor, kitchen decor, and bathroom decor. I had no idea that there was even bathroom decor made. Why do we need to decorate the bathroom?

Three carts lated and a crazy amount of money later, we were finally leaving. 

“I am sorry that I spent so much money. I can get a job and repay you. Luckily, Everything was 40% off.”

“Absolutely not! That was our money and I love that you are making the house into a home. It will be nice to see these decorations added to the rooms.”

“Thank you!” She gaffe me a deep kiss and I was in heaven. We were out shopping like a married couple and it was so nice. 

“Where to now my love?”

“Wally World!”

“What?”

She burst out laughing. “Walmart please. My dad always called it Wally World.”

“Interesting.” I have never heard of that before. I am going to have to ask him the next time we talk about that one. 

We walked around Walmart for another few hours. This girl could shop. She was very practical though and always picked out the cheapest things. I made sure to tell her not to do that. 

“Can we get dinner now?”

“Of course, what would you like?”

“Do you like Taco Bell? It is my favorite place to eat.”

“Yeah, we can get Taco Bell.” I drove to the nearest one and we ordered. She got a whole selection of items. “I like to mix and match and then put fire sauce on everything.”

“Do you want to eat here in the car or do you want to take it home?”

“Can we take it home? I want to put on some comfy clothes and watch a good true crime show or a ghost show.”

“A ghost show? Like the supernatural world then?”

“Well I am with you.” She is giggling again and she has a point. “Very true, I suppose.”

We made our way home and I had some soldiers outside waiting for us. They got all of our bags and her huge collection of signs out of the car. They dropped them off inside of our apartment while Astrid went up to get changed. 

She came back in an oversized t-shirt and a pair of sweat pants. She looked adorable. She had pulled her hair back into a losse ponytail. 

“Are you going to put on comfy clothes?”

“I don’t really wear comfy clothes. I like to stay in my jeans.”

“That’s weird.” She made a face of true confusion and repulsion. I couldn’t help but laugh at her. “I can go put on some gym shorts, if you want.”

“No, that’s okay. I want you to wear what you would normally wear.”

We set down and she put on a show. This felt like the best date ever. I didn’t call it a date but that’s what it was. We were able to go out together and enjoy one another’s company. I loved every minute of it.
