Two Alphas, One Human

The Garden

Astrid-

I couldn’t find Seb at lunch time so I decided to walk to the kitchen to see if I could help at all. 

“You f*****g bitch.”

Excuse me? Was someone calling me a b***h? I turned around and was met by a slap across the face. It hit me so hard that I bounced off of the wall. What the hell?

“What are you doing? I don’t even know you.”

“You don’t know me but you decided to sleep with my mate!”

Oh f**k, this must be the woman that Sedrick is with. How do I handle this situation? I do feel bad since they have been together for so long but werewolves aren’t suppose to ignore the mate bond either. 

“You must be Star. Sedrick has told me about you. Sedrick and I aren’t together. We don’t want to be mated with each other.”

“You’re f*****g right. I am Star and you better not sleep with him again. He is mine and you will never have him. I will be this packs Luna. Stay away from him.”

“Look, I don’t want to be his Luna and I don’t plan on sleeping with him ever again. What happened in the office was fluke. I didn’t mean for it to happen and I will resist the mate pull next time.”

She just narrowed her eyes and walked away from me. What does she want from me. It’s not like I meant for any of this to happen.

Oh my god. I am the home wrecker. I don’t want to be the thing that destroys them. I have to resist this urge from now on. I can’t let that happen again. I am a w***e. I never wanted to be the other woman and I am. I have to go tell Seb that I f****d up now. What if he doesn’t want anything to do with me after this?

“Sebastian? Can you hear me?” He said that I would be able to mind link him since he marked me. 

“Yeah, babe, what’s up?”

  “I need to talk to you. Where are you?”

I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and smelled him instantly.  I could tell that he knew something was wrong.

“You smell like my brother and sex.”

“Could we go back to the room and talk about it? Please!”

Yeah, of course we can. Come on.” Thank Goddess that he agreed to go talk with me. I don’t want to do anything to lose him. He means so much to me. I, physically, don’t think that I could survive losing him. 

Once we were up in our room, I broke down. The tears just started streaming down my face. 

“Baby, tell me what’s wrong! I hate to see you cry.”

“I messed up. I got…physical with Sedrick. He just smells so good and when he looks at me, I can’t resist him. What is wrong with me? How can I be so angry with him but lose myself to him so easily? I am so sorry! I never meant to cheat on you. You have been nothing but nice to me and this is how I repay you. I am so very sorry. Please don’t hate me!”

“Hey, hey, calm down. I don’t hate you at all. I know it’s the mate pull. A large part of you is physically attracted to him just like he is to you. You can’t help that. Honestly, it’s going to be almost impossible to resist. I am not upset with you at all. You are doing what your body naturally wants to do. It needs both of us. I understand babe. It might help to talk to my mom about this too. You could get a different perspective on it.”

“Really? You aren’t mad at me?”

“Well, I mean, I am sad that it wasn’t me that brought you such great pleasure but no I am not mad at all.”

“You are the greatest person ever and I am not going to talk to your mother about having s*x with her sons. That is just so weird.”

That got a huge belly laugh from Sebastian. He really was the most handsome man that I have ever seen, well besides Sedrick. This is going to be one strange life. I have never thought that I would be torn between two gorgeous men before. How did this turn into my life?

“Could I ask you about one more thing? I don’t want to overstep but I need to ask some questions.”

“Go on.”

“Your mom and dad took me on a ride around the territory. They tried very hard to avoid taking me down the Omega’s road but I made them. That is completely unfair to those people. They should not have to work so hard and make so little money. Their homes are falling a part and are so rundown.”

“Hmmm…I will have to talk to Sedrick about it. I have never been down there before. I am always training some group or another.”

“That’s another thing. So the omega’s get no training at all? What if the pack is attacked? They are just left defenseless?”

“Well they are suppose to get to the bunker with the elderly, children, and you.”

“So we are to hide away and hope that you, the soldiers, win?”

“In the perfect world, we always win.”

“What happens if you don’t win? What happens to all of the people in the bunker?”

“Typically, they will get accepted into the winning pack or if they refuse the winning pack then they are turned rogue or killed.”

“So join or die?”

“Yes, but that hardly ever happens. We keep treaties going between all of the packs so something like that doesn’t happen.”

“Well I would like to do something about their living conditions. Could I possibly find a place to put out a large garden? I may not have money to rebuild their homes but I can grow them food and medicines.”

“I think that would be amazing. I am sure they would all appreciate it greatly. Any other questions? I need to get down to the training field.”

“Nope! Wait, yes, do you have a truck? I may need to haul some wood and stuff.”

“A truck can be arranged for you to use and this is my card. You can use it to buy whatever you need. There is no limit on it. Go wild!”

He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on my lips. It was the sweetest kiss that I have ever felt in my life. How can he be so perfect? I am scared to see him blow up. I bet it is super scary. 

I guess it’s time to find the perfect place to lay out my garden. These lands are so huge. I can make it so big! I have never been so excited in my life. My little witchy heart is about to explode. First thing that I need to do is get a map. 

I started to walk down towards the office again. I am a bundle of nerves. I can do this. I can resist him. He doesn’t rule me. I am in control of my own body and feelings. 

I knocked lightly and then opened the door a crack. My eyes fell onto him sitting with Star startling his lap. 

“Back for more?” That arrogant asshole. 

“No, I actually would like a map of the territory. Sebastian said that I could make a large garden to grow food and herbs in.”

“You garden? Like an old lady?” Star laughs out loud. I guess she cracked herself up. 

“No, I garden like a normal person who wants to be able to support the ecosystem and the people around me. Is there any area of land that goes unused?”

“Let me get you a map. I will circle some areas and you can pick one out. What do you plan on growing?”

“Well, I need to feel out the land but potatoes, corn, tomatoes, peppers, and things like that most likely. Maybe some berry bushes.”

“That sounds nice. Here are three choices that you can look at. The firs tone get the most direct sunlight.”

“Can I use the golf cart to go see the areas?”

“Yeah, I will have Eric met you down at the garage and you can get started.”

“Thank you!” I quickly walked out of the office as quickly as I could. I don’t want to have to deal with Star’s glares anymore. 

Eric was at the garage door waiting on me. “Alpha said that I am to show you are to a few grassy places.”

“You don’t need to come with me. I have the map. I won’t get lost. Probably.”

“I am afraid it is a command. Let’s go little shorty.”

“Hey! Don,t call me “shorty”!”

“Okay Tiny, I won’t call you shorty.” I can’t believe that he is laughing at me. I can but still! I can’t help but join in his laughter.

We came to the first area and it decent. It was a large open field on the edge of the pack house lawn. It seemed relatively flat but had no watering areas that I could see or electricity. 

“Are there any water sources close by?”

“No, you are out of range for the water hook up here. The second area on this map may have water hook up though. It once has an old house on the property.”

“I would like to go see that one. It would be nice to have a small building to use too.”

“Come on, Tiny. Let’s go!”

The second area was it. I could feel it. The land was giving off vibrations of love and good growth. I hadn’t even stepped off the golf cart yet and just new it. The little house was adorable. It was falling down but I could work with it. I would need to replace the front porch but that would be easy enough to do. 

“I can go inside of the house?”

“We can try to but I have to keep you safe.”

“I am sure it will be fine.”

Eric tenderly stepped onto the porch. It sagged under his weight but held up. I walked up once he was on more stable wood. He pushed the door open and an intense musty smell poofed out us. 

“Gross.” That is all that I could say as we walked in but, surprisingly, the house was in great shape. It had a lot of old furniture that needed to be repaired or thrown out but the floors were good and there were no water leaks in the roof. The old metal roof was holding up very well.

The house had a small living room, a kitchen, an old bathroom, and a bedroom. I can make this work. This can be my processing area. I can jar and can foods here and set up my drying racks. It seems to have electricity and water ran to the property. I just need to get everything turned on.  I opened the backdoor and walked out onto an old screened in porch. Someone had painted it a bright yellow. It was very homey and warm. 

“This is it, Eric. This is the place.”

“I will let the Alpha’s know and they will get water and electricity turned on. I can help you go to hardware stores and get whatever you need. What are you going to do with all of the food that you are going to grow?”

“I am going to give it out to the pack families that are in need and I am also going to make some medicines. I noticed that the Omega families have a much harder time here than the rest of the classes.”

“That is very true. They aren’t paid as much and they are worked twice as hard as the soldiers and office workers.” He seemed very sad when he said this. I felt like there was more to this but I didn’t want to pry. Once I get to know him more though maybe be will open up to me. 

“Are you ready to go back, Luna Tiny?” Ugh, no don’t call me that. 

“No, I need to walk around the yard and see what I have to work with.”

I started walking around in the tall grass. The first thing I need to have done is to mow this grass down. It seems relatively flat. Some dips here and there but it is workable. I noticed that there are two outdoor spouts on the house. That’s good. I just need to find some electrical boxes. 

“Who can I talk to about borrowing a lawn mower around here?”

“It will be taken care of this afternoon. I have a crew coming out to mow and edge they yard for you.”

“Oh, I don’t mind doing it myself!”

“I know but it will help you get everything done. We having a landscaping crew. It’s all that they do.”

“Thank you. I think I am ready to go back now. I need to draw out my flowerbeds and make a plan for the seed sprouting. I can work on getting the house fixed up this winter and get everything sprouted by the spring time.”

“Sound good, Tiny. Let’s get back to the house.”

The ride back home was full of laughter and short conversations. I like Eric. He seems very nice and genuine. I can see why the boys picked him to be their Beta. He is a very good fit for them, I think. He seems sensible but lighthearted at the same time. 

Once we got back to the house, I ran up to our room and tried to find some drawing items. I couldn’t find a single thing though. This is definitely a bachelors pad. 

“Hey babe, can I go to the store? I need a few things.”

“Yeah, come one down to the office in 30 minutes and we will go wherever you would like to.”

Walmart, Target, and Hobby Lobby, here we come!

Eric-

“Eric, I need you to take Astrid around the pack property to look at garden location possibilities. Apparently, she has a green thumb.”

“On my way Alpha.” I didn’t expect to spend time with Astrid. I guess that I should get to know her. She will be one of my Lunas after all. They way that Sedrick always seems annoyed with her isn’t all that great. I hope that she isn’t annoying. She can’t be any worse than Star though. 

I hear tiny little excited foot falls coming my way. I turned around and there she is. She is a short thing. I wasn’t expecting that. She has to be all of five feet tall, give or take. She has interesting long curly hair that is kinda frizzy. It doesn’t seem well controlled. She has a huge infectious smile though. I didn’t think she would be chubby. She looks nice though in her outfit. Not that it is bad to be chubby. I actually like a curvy girl but its hard to find that in a werewolf. We have super fast metabolisms and are naturally lean. 

“Could I have the keys to the golf cart please?” Oh goddess, that voice. It’s the sweetest thing that I have ever heard. When I let her know that I will be taking her around, I can tell that she is annoyed but she gets on the cart. 

As we pulled up the first place, I could tell that she wasn’t feeling it. She looked like she was thinking super hard as we walked around. Then she asked about the utilities and her face fell. I felt this urge to make her happy and to feel better so we took off to the next place. 

I didn’t want to tell her at the time but this house is where I grew up. My grandma raised me in this little house. It is falling down now but it is filled with wonderful memories for me. I remember the summer that she made me paint that back room yellow. She said it made her feel young and happy. She made me dinner every night at that tiny stove. I miss her a lot. 

We pulled up and there was that big smile again. I could feel her excitement. We started walking up to the porch and I went first. I wasn’t sure if this old thing would hold us or not. I have let it go since grandma left. It held as I walked on it though. We walked into the tiny living room and it felt like home. Astrid looked like she was about to squeal. I could see her brain working faster than she could possibly talk. She walked room to room and touched everything. Then she walked out the backdoor and said that this was the place. 

It made me happy to know that it was going to get used again. I had to ask her what she wanted to do with this old place. What she said made me know instantly that she was our true Luna. When she said she was going to grow food for the Omega’s, it made my heart want to burst. I am a big guy so I would never admit that but it was the defining moment for me. She is my Luna and I will do anything and everything to protect her. 

Sedrick was an i***t for not picking Astrid. Tiny was the best fit for Luna, not Star. Star was nice in her own way but she cared way too much about looks and she treated those below her like trash. I have a feeling that Astrid will never do that. 

We decided to head back and I could tell that she was planning everything out in her mind. I am going to be super busy this winter. I can feel it. 

She ran inside and bound up the stairs like a woman on a mission. 

“Eric, can you meet me in the gym?”

“I will be there in two minutes, Alpha.”

I walked in to see Sebastian lifting weights like always around this time of day. He always got in a private workout at the end of his training times. 

“What can I do for you, Alpha?”

“How was taking Astrid around to look at properties? Did she pick one?”

“Yeah, she actually picked my grandparents old place. She seems super excited about it. I think we will be doing a lot of work in the house this winter to get it ready for the spring time.”

“That will be nice to see that old place up and going again. Are you okay with that? It’s okay if you’re not. I am sure Astrid can find a different place to use.”

“I actually love that it’s going to be used again. Grandma would be so happy to see it being used for good. It made me see Astrid in a different light.”

“Oh yeah? In a good light, I hope.”

“A great light, Alpha. She is our true Luna. I know this now. I will do everything in my power to keep her safe and happy.”

Sebastian got up and clapped me on the back. “That means a lot to me to hear. Thanks, man.”

“No problem, Alpha.” I could see his eyes glaze over so I knew that Astrid was mind linking him. He got a big goofy smile on his face. This man has it bad.

“Well, the Luna would like to go shopping. I think I am going to finish up here and take her out for a while. Have a good night, man.”

“Thank, you too!”
